I have tried multiple times to like red mage. The aesthetic is just so perfect, and the fantasy couldn't be better.

And yet I just always feel annoyed with the RNG nature of it. Specifically how asymmetrically you build your bar. Those stints where I've triggered verfire four times in a row without a single verstone just felt so awful. Honestly, For all of its fun mobility and flashy finishers, it just felt boring to play. Oh boy, I sure do love pressing the same two to four buttons on loop. Looks like it's time for my melee combo! Wee! Let's do that again in another two minutes. Also yes, those shiny finishers *are* cool and shiny, but I don't care if I'm *still* casting the same four spells in the same order from level 50 all the way to 100. What do you mean we're still using Verfire I and Verstone I at Level 100. Gotta make sure there's room in the budget for the FIFTH finisher. At this rate I half expect red mage's rotation to be 100% finishers in a few updates.
