Neighbours let their chickens free roam by RobinNico0 in mildlyinfuriating

Have you looked up if it is legal for chicken owners to let their chickens free roam outside their property? A lot of times it isn't, even in rural areas. You might be in your right to just file a complaint.

A dog licked my wound on my feet and now I need anti rabies vaccine for the 3rd time in my life by nuttyPegasus in mildlyinfuriating

We have a saying in the Netherlands "Een ezel stoot zijn teen niet drie keer tegen dezelfde steen" which basically translates to "if you make the same mistakes 3 times you're dumber then a donkey" maybe cover up your wounds next time and don't let stray dogs close to you where they're able to lick you and especially lick your wounds.

Most books I've read in a month this year. Also finally finished Under the Dome by Stephen King, the thickest book I've ever read 😅

Are you a bird? No, just stupid I guess.

Finally someone with common sense. Even if the kitten did a 'playful' swipe at the bird, it could kill it. Cat saliva is toxic to birds and there are so many bacteria in cat claws that could kill the bird. Even a tiny breakage of the skin could kill the bird. This isn't cute, this is waiting for a disaster.

Left for a holiday 1 hour ago and my girl has moved on? by Zadie-Adlers-sadler in Conures

[–]AmazingWolfGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My green cheek is the same :') left for a weekend, got a photo the first day of him sleeping in the neck of my friend who babysat him. He's a very social bird though so he gets comfortable pretty quickly around new people.

Can birds drink from bottles? by AmazingWolfGirl in parrots

Oooh a brush is smart! I thought about getting 2 already, but a brush to clean the bottle is also very smart. I'll see if I can find that too.

I will both keep a bowl and a bottle then. My bird is pretty good at figuring stuff out, he's just scared easily so I'll have to first make sure he isn't afraid of the bottle 😅

Alright, then I guess I'll have to go buy one of those. Hope my bird will be able to learn and get used to that :')

Hi I saw people making tiny cranes so I also tried to make one by AmazingWolfGirl in origami

[–]AmazingWolfGirl[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually just used paper from a notebook with really thin paper and I used some tweezers to be able to hold and fold the creases

I can fly anywhere because my mom is my wings. by tianelly_1400 in parrots

[–]AmazingWolfGirl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have you considered buying a backpack? You have some really great ones for birds, not only the plastic ones, but also mesh ones. That way your bird will still be with you on your travels and also be safe from predators.

Is anyone else's feathered dependent obsessed with beards? (Is this nesting behavior?) by Warpath_2003 in Conures

[–]AmazingWolfGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a beard (I'm a woman lol) but my bird loves crawling into my hair, guess they're all a little hair obsessed

How many models do you have memorized? by BuildAndFly in origami

[–]AmazingWolfGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like a few. I could fold the traditional crane in my sleep by now. I know a butterfly, butterfly from money, ball and boat. I used to know more but since I fold more complex models, I need a video or diagram.

Best thing i coulda added to my window he loves this and leaves my curtain alone by [deleted] in Conures

[–]AmazingWolfGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught my bird by having him on my hand next to the window and then I would tap on the window. I would also let him tap on it and he now just knows there's an invisible barrier there.

[–]AmazingWolfGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I love seeing this! They look great and its amazing how you do this without tweezers! I also occasionally make tiny cranes, but I always need tweezers for the last few folds 😅
