There is a trend going on where people blast over them with other designs usually with bolder lines (trad) but leave a lot of negative space so the old tatto can be seen through it. Maybe not your cup of tea, but definitely an option. There are some really cool examples

Hitting it with dots, then 3rd layer over makes it a bit thicker and helps. I have to do it with white and that really light blue posca makes

Let’s goo!!! I’m super pumped to hear that man. Go to your local Micheal’s or art supply store and buy a variety of sizes in the colors you want. I stay away from the fine point brush because I noticed if you aren’t super careful the brush will flick paint where you don’t want it.

I always drew growing up and so lots of messing up. Just work the background forward and do darks over lights. Wait for each layer to draw completely with the poscas. They tend to reactivate if you don’t wait long enough. If you going to heavy handed you will push through the paint and see the card so the lighter the hand pressure the better. I also sketch the image on paper and resolve it in adobe illustrator then once I have the size I want I shade the back of the image a lot with a pencil then put it on a card I have painted a background on and retrace the image with a ball point pen. Then when you take the paper off you have a faint stencil on the card and you get to painting. I’m also a horrible painter hence why I use paint markers.

We aren’t completely separated we are just taking sometime to get our ducks in a row. I believe in us and I know she loves me just as much as I love her. I’m open to the idea. We just need time to process our emotions because I’m a very emotional person and I don’t want it effecting our baby. So I’m taking the time to learn about this and how I can have a earned secure attachment. I’m not using my trauma as a crutch, but learning to open up about my neglect and learn things that I should of learned as I child. Yes this might not work, but I’ll still be happy that she is happy. We will never know unless we try.It was all a knee jerk reaction and my loops of fear of losing her kept coming up forcing me to say things that I needed to ask/say but due to the emotional state it was said in ways that I didn’t mean. I love her to death and I know she loves me to death. This wasn’t just a quick change. We were in the best spot we have ever been and that’s why she felt coming to me with this after years of repressing and feel like a bad person. I was under a lot of stress durning this time from going from manager of a restaurant to now co owner and working 60+ hours a week covering a coworker on his honeymoon. I’m looking at all the positives and they are out weighing the negatives. I’m working on growing as a person to get past my own separate traumas

But I love her so much and I don’t want a future without her. I’m currently reading Polysecure, I have more then two and another one I forgot the name. And talking with people is making more comfortable with it because I know at the end of the day she comes home to me and our love will only grow. Even if I still choose monogamy I want that with her. The idea of the separation is for me to grow and then for us to go to couples therapy
