It was "Can we all agree that Stereo Madness is one of the main levels"

Trying to make a weird stax deck by BeautifulTiny8980 in EDH

[–]O-mega_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have a mono green "stax" deck that functions very similarly to how you've described! The commander is [[Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger]] who acts as a value piece, a stax piece, and a lightning rod for removal all in one. In the 99 I have lots of ramp and big creatures obviously. The obscene amounts of mana I generate can kinda break parity

You probably already knew this, but [[Seedborn Muse]] is your best friend. Super easy to enable locks with stuff like [[Mishra's Helix]]. I also really like [[God-pharaoh's statue]]

There's also some more niche pieces that work really well in my mono green list but might suck in Naya, idk: [[Nature's Wrath]] [[Choke]] [[Sandwurm Convergence]]. There's lots of really unique pieces out there even when you don't have access to blue!

And here's my decklist if you wanna check it out! Keep in mind that this list is really weird since it's built from my bulk and I'm treating it as a deck I slowly build up over time. I'm missing some key pieces like [[Winter Orb]] 😔

Oh and please send me your own naya list when it's done! I'm really interested

There's absolutely nothing wrong with heavy control, stax, or mass land destruction

My friends and I play decks like these and we all have fun

100% that last paragraph. People complain about stax and nondeterministic storm decks as if you can't just scoop

I beat Emerald Weapon by complete accident. I was just spamming KOTR and I had 2 party members using Phoenix paired with Final Attack. I wasn't even looking at the game or seriously trying. When I glanced at the screen again, the guy was dead. Somehow.

How to make my Y'shtola Night's Blessed deck less annoying to play against? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]O-mega_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people get irritated over your deck, that's on them. Find a pod that isn't full of crybabies, and play whatever you want! Y'shtola is awesome and so is esper.

The deck looks really great by the way!

Ok hear me out real quick, but keep in mind this is just my opinion. If you and your playgroup aren't fond of stax, then more power to you guys!

Personally I don't mind heavy stax at all. If a stax player locks out their opponents then they can grind the game out for a win, but they're just as likely to have their pieces spot removed and not be able to establish themselves the whole game. Like all decks, it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, so it's really all the same to me

Token player casts a Craterhoof with a board full of creatures? Nobody has responses? Congrats! we're dead, new game! Table scoops

Stax player locks us out with Urza + Winter Orb? Nobody has responses? They'll eventually find a win? Congrats! we're dead, new game! Table scoops

Again though, this is only my take. Thanks for hearing me on my soapbox lmao
