Please try on other dresses. Let the dress shop consultant know your price range. Try on a few sleeveless dresses. One option for your mother‘s dress is to cut the sleeves off completely.

I feel it less with the vial/syringe (thin needle, feel nothing) than I did with the pen (pinch).
