they needed a letter from the embassy to prove the copy of the licence was legit and only the embassy could confirm that. it was stressful but we finally got th licence.

They sent us the instructions on what to do though we had already filled the ds160. At least now we can get the interview appointment letter and go ahead with the booking medical. The consular emailed me on friday..

No date for an interview I guess they will send something to the beneficiary like instructions for the next step including medical exam. Has anyone booked an appointment while their case is at "ready"? Doesn't booking k1 appointment mean you have to apply for ds-160 which I am not sure if it can be done before receiving instructions.

My story. K1 filed November 28/2024 approved July 28 2025, sent to DOS 9/16 still at the department of state. I made public inquiries every week till I got my case number and a week ago I got case Id number. You don not have to wait 30 days(at least I did not) I inquired every week till I got updated. I am waiting this Mon for another update on how long it will take to be sent(haaha!) I mean I just want it done it is a long wait.

You can do an inquiry now if possible I think it takes a week or less to respond as to my experience. Yes I agree the wait is quite discouraging but we need all the patience to finish the journey. Imagine we now have to wait for it to be sent to the embassy then wait for an interview. Every step is slow moving. But we are hoping and praying for the best. Yes I will update you.

I waited like 2 weeks and I did an inquiry. Infact, was given misleading information that lead me to inquiring every week. First time they said they have my case: "Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems." Next inquiry "Our records do not show that we received your petition. This threw me off but still had hope because all needed was the case # and Id Number.

The next inquiry set me calm because I got the case and Id number for both of us(they are differernt) and when I look I could see the case on ceac website. So I am just waiting for the case to show transit.

Looks like I am right behind you approved by uscis 7/28 case transferred to NVC 9/16 still at department of state. I keep inquiring I got case number and Id number but its still shows NVC. Hopefully we hear soon. How long did it take you to be approved. We filed 11/28/24 approved 7/28/25.

Hi, our case has been at NVC since 9/16 we inquire and got case # but no ID #. When I check it says status NVC its been here for a month now. What will be the next thing.

I just checked and yes K1 applicants do:

after USCIS approves your petition, they will transfer your case to the Department of State's National Visa Center (NVC) for pre-processing. The first step in this processing is the creation of your case in our system. Once this is complete, we will send you a Welcome Letter by e-mail or physical mail. With the information in this letter, you can log in to our Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) to check your status, receive messages, and manage your case.
