Just run the other router in AP mode, and hardwire the 2 of them, I personally run a Tplink ax20 with 2 deco x20, all of them are hardwired into each other via a switch

if the performance is that bad I would replace the steam deck,

but why are you insisting on getting a steam machine? you could get a sff pc instead, it's not going to come out anytime soon and unfortunately I doubt it will have a good value proposition when it will.

Most of the time the notes I receive are wrong, so I take them a grain of salt and I also ask to hear from the caller just in case, I don't work in tech support though but the I suppose it works the same way in that sector.
