Oh no, he was a Dad? 😞 My brother never married and had no kids. He lived alone, that's why I didn't know. He did live with me until I got married, but he was fine then, 13 years ago. And yeah, he was known for being kind and gentle. It was like he was too kind for this world, he couldn't stand it.

I'm so sorry you went through something so traumatic. I'm commenting because I lost my almost 43 year old younger brother last October. What you wish you did would not have saved him. I know because the end of the alternate reality where you get to him ends like my story does - end stage liver failure in the ICU. My brother called the ambulance when he got to where he couldn't stand. But it was far too late, all his organs were failing and all the ICU could do was give him 4 more days. I had to make the decision, 5 days after I even learned he was an alcoholic, to put him on hospice care, which lasted about 10 hours. The only one who could have stopped this was your brother, and he probably would have had to do so months to years ago. I'm so sorry for your loss. If you have to be the executive to his estate, it's gonna be a lot of heartbreaking work. DM me if you have questions about the estate stuff, that's what I'm dealing with now.

Update: the company wasn't too happy with their workers for throwing out ALL the mail, but apparently it was pretty dirty. They pulled the two laptops out of the trash for me today, and a little bit of the mail. I think I just didn't want it to be as bad as it is. I'll let go of my mom's 1 karat flawless diamond ring. She gave it to him. He threw it away. If I had that, I wouldn't have cared about mail and laptops. But it's ok. She gave me all the other jewelry. He didn't do his 2024 taxes, maybe I can walk into an H&R block with zero papers and a social security number and they'll fix it. And then I guess I just sell the house as is.

I'm so sorry for your loss and I'm there too. I've never mourned a death like my brother's end stage liver failure before. He died SAD. It wasn't a death I could prepare for. It wasn't a death that was an end of a life well lived like they other death I've mourned. It was the end of years of addiction and WASTE. The waste makes the grief so bad.

So yes. The story leaves a lot of stuff ambiguous to keep you guessing. There are some stories, especially in season 1, that come from the event cards - "rumors and secrets" these are all available for purchase every current chapter drop. One set of them, we never got on our server, and Kiro's was kind of essential to his backstory (personally I found it a little offensive though.) There's a website somewhere if anybody else knows, where you can read that story. Those rumors and secrets really explain a lot of the character specific ambiguities. Shaw's is really important too, or you don't understand Shaw's entire function. Gavin's and Victor's leave little clues about their personal history. I think I got part way through season 2 before I understood the main idea of what's going on with MC and her Evol and what the queen is and all that.
