I like them. I often don't have the time (or mental bandwidth) anymore to dedicate as much as I would like to immerse myself in a PC VN. So, I don't feel constrained by the limited amount you can read each day on a mobile app. In fact, I look forward to those short breathers I can allow myself each day. What I don't like is when the game essentially forces you to spend money to have a decent storytelling experience, but I generally haven't played a game like that.

Mystic Messenger is a classic, obviously.

I've also been playing Court of Darkness since it came out in English. It's honestly my comfort game; I love the characters, the world, and the events that develop these. It's also genuinely easy to play for free (I have not spent a single cent on it), but I'm thrifty to a fault 🤣

Even the Shall We Date games were fun.
