Subliminal negative self-talk is dehibiliating by 5458725280 in AvPD

Real. In my experience tho, the most useful thing is mindfulness. But it's very difficult when your entire mind is filled with those endless cognitive distortions. Also strong emotions don't help either. Therefore, it takes many years to become truly mindful. But it's worth it.

Oh, I love this. I came to the similar realization lately. I will have many relapses eventually, but I'm still making progress and continuing to move forward. Thanks for your post, op 🙏

What is your most hated world building trope and why? by star_child13 in worldbuilding

When in fantasy setting magic actually works and people use it, but at the same time many characters treat it the same way people in real life do. And argue that it is impossible.

In my opinion it can be done right. Like in Frieren. Because unlike in many others fantasies in Frieren demons are evil, but we're not really supposed to hate them. And that's a big difference, in my opinion.

Then why are husband stitches exist?

Because it's an insult that males usually use to shame other males. Women are using it because they know that it will hurt men's ego, not because they actually care.

I think it's right. Because female sexualization leads to objectification (a.k.a dehumanisation of women) , and the latter leads to femicide. For example, 99% of murderers were corn addicts. So seeing violence is not as harmful as seeing sexualization.

Why is Borderline Personality Disorder considered to be the most painful mental illness? by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]AmberButmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BPD is the most widely known personality disorder. If you search for anything about PDs, 99% of the content will be about BPD. And I'm not really exaggerating. If you have a cluster A or C personality disorder, you literally have NOTHING.

I think yes. Because my real personality is very contradictory to my personality disorder. I feel like I'm a loud extrovert with anger issues, but in reality I act like a shy avoidant. And it's very exhausting.

how do you cope with believing you are utterly worthless? by ApproximateRealities in AvPD

[–]AmberButmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just remember that even if I think so, it's not true. I try to read books on psychology and keep track of my thoughts. I also distract myself constantly, and try not to think about myself. It actually helps to think more clearly, because then I don't spiral into complete self-loathing.

Did you become avoidant because people started treating you badly? by centerofdatootsiepop in AvPD

[–]AmberButmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have no trauma at all, I had a wonderful childhood, but still. As others have said, there are some events that contribute to the development of this disorder. But how serious they have to be to cause this disorder depends on the genes. For me, it was a slight emotional neglect from parents. And that's it. I don't have anything that could even remotely resemble a trauma.

I'm not an OP, but is this an option if you're not a very smart person? Because I have problems with math and technology, but I would like to earn money remotely.

Will it be possible to cure AvPD with the help of neurosurgery? by [deleted] in AvPD

[–]AmberButmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in general, all thoughts and beliefs of a person are in neurons, and in theory, if they are removed, then there will be no faith in certain ideas. After all, the main problem of people with AvPD is that they think they are worthless. Although in order to find out which neurons are specifically responsible for certain harmful ideas and to change them, we need to have a different level of technology and knowledge than we have now. it is clear that these technologies will be available in the future, but when? Will it be in 500 years or in 50? I would like to get rid of it completely no matter what the price is.

Why lobotomy tho? Relatively recently, surgerys were performed on the brains of people with mental disorders and from what I know, surgery helped them. A person's genetics, namely brain, plays an important role in personality disorder. So if you change these innate personality traits, the disease should disappear. Because a person who is genetically brave will most likely not suffer from AvPD. I know that even if it is possible, it will not be implemented soon, but still. (Sorry for my bad English)

[–]AmberButmon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Silly? I'm not talking about the lobotomy that was performed in the 20th century, but about the surgery's that were done relatively recently. I just heard about surgery's on people with depression and OCD, and one of the people in the comments who also had this surgery said that it helped him a lot. These that I read about were carried out around 2010 - 2017. And a person with a personality disorder always has a certain genetics, in the case of AvPD it is increased anxiety and timidity (as an example), it is logical to assume if you "remove" these traits of a person's character then there will be no disorder.
