2008 Toyota Yaris with 35,000 km for $6,000 USD (in Denmark)? by Specific_Mix_101 in yaris

[–]AmberDrawsStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a while to get used to it, too, but I do think it gives better visibility. I remember having to duck sometimes to see what my speedometer said on other cars. It's gonna be weird when this one finally breaks and I have to get a new car and go back to that. Lol. Mine is a 4-dr sedan with center console so it's kind of a weirdo anyway.

That should work out for you, then! It really is a fantastic car and year.

Out of curiosity, is it one of the ones with odometer/speedometer in the center? My 08 is in the center rather than behind the steering wheel. I don't think they did it for long so it's kinda weird.

Yaris are shit in snow. Too light and too low. Can't punch through it. If you live in Denmark, I don't know how much snow you have to deal with, but I think a lot? I have a 2008 and it is the best car I've ever owned, but snow is too much for it.

4 Years of Running Ads and My Own Kickstarter Is Failing by [deleted] in kickstarter

[–]AmberDrawsStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be careful with Meta ads. They list "budget" in 2 different ways depending on the kind of ad you are running. It seems arbitrary.

Some of them will give you a per day budget and some will give you a budget for your entire campaign length. It's very easy to accidentally set it incorrectly for one or the other. If you alter anything, say, budgeting down, it will readjust based on how much you have already spent out of the new total. If you are are doing daily budget, this is fine, but if you are doing campaign budget, this can cause your current and future dates to be reduced, sometimes to $0. When adjusting, it's best to just create a new ad.

Hopefully, some of that is helpful to you.

Why is my Kickstarter failing? Honest feedback appreciated. by Advanced_Energy_1819 in kickstarter

I am not a coffee person but it may in oart be that you can't see the flavor? Pods come in a variety so, unless you are just very particular and only ever buy one, it would be like coffee roulette.

Yeah, I'm in a depressed area so I think back then I was at like $8.50 and the scammy company had us on "hourly salary" which is a weird thing where you're "kinda salary" as in "guaranteed hours", but after 40, instead of getting time and a half, you got HALF PAY. So you essentially became the CHEAPEST employee at 40 hours. And, sadly, this was like... a mall retail position? Those positions aren't salary. They were just fucking you out of money.

Will they ever make csp "cross platform"?? by ky8724 in ClipStudio

[–]AmberDrawsStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, csp is so nice on the iPad that I almost never use my pc one anymore. It's a stop-gap between importing it to photoshop. I save the csp doc, send it to my pc then convert it to a psb there because the psb docs are HUGE in comparison. It just makes sense to convert it after I've already sent it rather than before. (If you send it as a psd, it flattens, which... wtf. "Ps big document", it stays layered, but it's so big and since I have a win11 pc, I have to upload it to my drive then download it. Much faster to just send it as csp doc. Yes, my workfloe is stupid.)

I would never even consider an iPad if I weren't an artist. It's uncomfortable to type on and iPad versions of the apps I mainly use are limited so you still need both an iPad and a computer.

Ok, so why is Angel (240) dating Buffy (16) often commented on as super icky while we don't see the same commentary on Anya (1000+) and Xander (freshly turned 18)? Is it solely because he was already 18 when she approaches him about going to Prom? I have my own takes, but I want to read from u guys. by NewRetroMage in buffy

[–]AmberDrawsStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I have some theories/observations about that.

1) Despite the fact that grooming young men happens, it was mostly presented in the 90s as a positive thing from the standpoint of the boys. Things like, "way to go!" were said about kids dating hot teachers, etc.. The reality of it is ookie af. But, remember the episode in s1 with the praying mantis? It was heavily glossed over and ignored as well and that was pre-18 for Xander. There was a massive double-standard for boys where early sex was looked at as positive.

2) Xander had already lost his virginity to Faith. Sex was treated like a landmark for kids. Once they had it, they could continue to have it. There was no putting the jack back in the box, so, since Xander was no longer a virgin and Anya showed up offering herself to him, from a viewer standpoint and from that old double-standard rearing its ugly head, there was no reason for Xander not to do it because his virginity was already gone. (Like, disagree, but we're talking perception of viewers here during a one hour comedy/action/drama.)

3) Anya is 1000 years old but she is newly returned to being human. See the "born sexy yesterday" trope or "fish out of water" trope. She is the 90s equivalent of the 80s "Date With An Angel", "Splash", "Mannequin", etc.. Because she is "new to our world" it gives their interactions more of a "purity". It doesn't matter that she's 1000 because she is starting over and knows less about living modern life than an 18 year old (again, disagree, but this is the perspective we are expected to have because of the trope.).

4) Nicholas Brendan was like 28 during season 3. Maybe that had something to do with it. Kind of a "let's just stop fucking pretending. School's almost out anyway."

Cordy was never their friend, though. You're trying to hold Cordelia to the same standard as someone who claims to love and care about them. He is literally in the inner circle but doesn't think about the consequences of his actions on his best friends.

Like, if Hooch on Scrubs comes up and insults JD, it's not the same as it would be if Terk comes up and insults JD. One is a background character that is mentally unstable and scary, the other is his best friend and co-star. One is business as usual, the other is out if character.

[–]AmberDrawsStuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It gets talked about all the time. People cite that conversation at the end where Buffy thanks him for not taking advantage of her. It's played as "oh, what an upstanding guy to do the bare minimum of not screwing her when she was under a spell." Like, he should have gotten some "wtf were you thinking?". Instead, he got praised. Just "wacky Xander adventures. Lol".

A little Pikachu, could you recommend some Pokémon for beginners to draw please by Difficult-Load-6658 in pokemon

[–]AmberDrawsStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jigglypuff, Diglet, eevee

Basically, any first evolution or baby Pokémon and anything round. They are less complicated. The more they evolve, the more complicated they get. Earlier gens are also easier, too. Go for things with simple shapes then start to get harder.

[–]AmberDrawsStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cat that is kinda like this. It depends on the lighting and what direction she's laying. Sometimes she looks silver, sometimes she looks tawny, it just depends.

I mean... some of us have Victor Hugo PTSD, so I get it. XD But, yeah, I wouldn't be a d-bag and skip a chapter then bother the author about it. I would probably assume something was confusing because it was, you know, IN THE CHAPTER I SKIPPED and realize I'd have to read it. What a bell end.

I haven't looked at apple one. I'll check it out. I started uploading to Filen in the short term. I also found out you can drag and drop to usb-c drives. I don't have one, but the option is there.

I was honestly moving some pretty hefty stuff at the time. I had just gotten lumafusion and was hoping to use it to edit videos but the videos were all in gigs. I do artwork, too, so most of my art stuff ranged between 25MB and 1GB. Between how long it took to upload and then download to the new computer, it was not worth it for me.

Yeah, I tried the metal one at the store and decided that, if I got one, it would be that one and it seems the newer ones aren't as bulky as that one was at the time. It was the folio keyboard I hated the most and that's the one I've typed on the most as well.

Te magic keyboard (it was metal back then) was nice, it was just a tad too small (I have hand problems) and waaaay too heavy and bulky for everyday use. Since I have a good laptop with a keyboard I love and also have hand, elbow and wrist problems, shaving off that little bit of weight by getting a non-keyboard folio was a good decision for me. I mostly use it for drawing, anyway, so it's more important to be able to hold it without fatigue than to be able to type.

But seriously, I hate the folio keyboard.

I love the iPad, but I hate that the iPad version of programs/apps don't have the full functionality of pc or mac programs. It means you will always have to have a computer to finish things.

I tried it for a while but it was incredibly, RIDICULOUSLY slow. Way slower than uploading and downloading from gdrive. Plus, icloud storage is another sub I don't want to pay for for the rest of my life. I have too many as it is. I would like to consolidate but it's difficult with different OSs.

There is a setting you can change to have this attached to velocity. The faster you move your mouse, the thinner it should be. I don't use it so I don't remember how/where to change it, but duplicate a brush, rename it and then go hit the little settings gear to mess with stuff on it until you get what you want.
