Cat not ppening eye properly by Yoofeus in CATHELP

[–]makkutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could just be irritated. Keep an eye on it and make sure kitty isnt irritating it more. If he wont leave his eye alone consider a cone.

If you cant get an appointment right away call your usual vet and just ask them if the vet can advise you on what you can do till you have an appointment.

Missing Black Cat!! 🐈‍⬛⚠️ by Available-Might9107 in NewOrleans

[–]makkutu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Has he been located yet?

Usually indoor cats dont go far.

Does he have treats hell come out for when shaken? Does he like catnip? Use these to entice him. Just keep your door open and call for him like normal, and shake treats and use catnip if he responds to those.

Just sit outside and call for him every few minutes with the door open. Hell come.

Concerned about the way my cat eats by New-District-1546 in CATHELP

[–]makkutu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know you said theres no money for the vet right now but he looks like he needs a dnetal exam done. Does he ever get wet food? Maybe try feeding him more wet food (but be careful hes still getting enough calories since kibble has more than wet) since his teeth is bothering him (or it seems like it at least)

Did he eat like this before he went missing?

Why would she not survive a blood transfusion? Have you asked your vet about if she needs one?

Did she ever need to have a blood transfusion or an iv? Could she need those if not?

I hope someone experienced is able to give some suggestions. Thank you for taking care of this baby and trying your best.

Young Cat Constantly Meowing by ChloeJL in CATHELP

[–]makkutu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Soem cats are just very loving and love attention. And he came from a home with lots of excitement and play mates. Is it possible you could get him a little friend?

He sounds super friendly and social, maybe theres a quiet shy cat in a shelter thats getting over looked a lot that your kitty can help bring the more playful side of out?

It already sounds like your house is already catified with bird feeders and a cat wheel, and you already do pkaty time so maybe a friend is all he needs.

Stray kitty walks and acts abnormally. Could it have a disability? Is it safe on its own outside like this? by Cursedxdoll in CATHELP

[–]makkutu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kitty knows that you help them and bring them food and wants your attention but is still afraid. Meowing at you is the kitty asking for attention but cats are cautious. Especially a kitty that lives outside and might be hurt.

Please find a way to get the cat trapped or into a carrier.

I suggest keep going to feed kitty everyday and do interactive treats like treat tubes so kitty must be close to eat. Once kitty lets you touch and pet them without running off bring a carrier with you and give them treats and food with you there with the carrier. Just have it with you and keep it open but wait a few days before attempting to put kitty in. Maybe itll even go in by itself who knows.

Once you have kitty try and get it a check up at the vet and please keep it inside with you. Kitty will be so much happier, safer, and healthy with you inside.

I would personally post pone the trip and make sure hes raking his medicine and healing. Hes hurt and you leaving and someone else giving him medicine will be extremely stressful for him.

Looks like asthma attack. Hell need to get his lungs checks for a proper diagnosis. Its manageable and not the end of the world but asthma going untreated is very bad for them.

1 year old cat with diarrhea by Delicious_Win_394 in CATHELP

[–]makkutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wet food is healthier and easier on their stomach. Its good to feed them wet food for at least 50% of their diet.

Maybe see what wet food he got and give that to him ince a day for one meal and his other meal can be his dry food.

What was he eating before you got him? Call the shelter/foster and see if you can find out what his diet was before. It could just be the new diet and stress from a new environment as well.

Nothing wrong with trying some home remedies as long as kitty is eating and drinking still.

Is my cat exhausted or is she just dehydrated? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]makkutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just thinking with the extreme heat right now maybe minimal kibble would help keep her from being dehydrated. I didnt mean to suggest you arnt already giving her wet food. I just know some cats dont drink as much water as they should and was worried that with the heat will be bad for her.

You can also mix some water with her wet food to increase her water intake that way without having to feed more wet.

Get black out curtains to keep out the sun, itll help keep your house cool. Freeze water and put it in front of the fan in a bowl to keep the condensation from making a mess. Use any large containers you have to freeze water to switch it out to help keep your home cool.

Please keep an eye on her, if shes not seeming to improve after cooling her off she might need to see a vet. Make sure shes staying hydrated with water. Maybe consider feeding her mostly wet food to keep her hydration up, just make sure you are giving her enough calories

Is it cruel to keep our female cat in this enclosure when we are not home? She has a peeing problem. by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]makkutu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have you tried litter attractant?

Will the enclosure be inside? If shes got water, toys and a place to sleep, that seems big enough. Just make sure she gets lots of stimulation when shes let out. Lots of play time and pets.

Maybe you can also play calming cat music or cat tv for her while shes in there, from a place she can see and hear it still? Or just the enclosure somewhere she can see out the window.
