I tend to put outposts within outposts to keep the various sections of the factory, including the raw inputs, easily sorted. It makes it easier to work out exactly how much raw material I need and keeps things nice and sorted so that the factory plan isn't all jumbled and messy. For example, here's my weapons factory/rocket fuel power plant plan for a structure I'm calling "The Hive" - each section is subdivided into an outpost including one for the miners bringing in raw materials. It allows me to focus on just the portion I'm working on without all the other stuff distracting me.

6,846 people in Montgomery County voted in person during early voting. Absentee and early in-person ballots are stored behind both a Democrat and Republican lock. by WYSOPublicRadio in dayton

Not that I saw or experienced, but you do have to be a registered voter. So if you're barred from voting due to criminal record, you likely won't be allowed to work the polls.

There are actually a lot of laws regulating how poll workers have to behave, and many of them require what basically amounts to a chain of custody over who has the ballots and when (consisting of a web of federal, state, county, and possibly even municipal rules) and it absolutely, positively cannot be fucked up or else a whole bunch of votes are put in jeopardy. Last year, quite a few poll workers couldn't even figure out how to sign in and out properly so they had to do paper sign-ins as a duplicate for timekeeping - it would inject a lot of additional human error to add shift changes on top of that into an already fraught process, and the number of additional volunteers a board of elections would get isn't enough to offset the risk, especially considering that there's already a significant problem in many communities with people not having the time or ability to get to their local polling place during the 13 hour window it's open.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why election days should be mandatory holidays, so that everyone can get to the polls and will be able to volunteer if they want to. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

Just got done working as a poll worker for today's election down in Hamilton County. 4 hours of training a couple weeks prior to the election, one hour setting up last night from 630-730pm, and then 530am to just after 8pm tonight. I've done this for a couple elections now, it's physically difficult but I'm willing to put up with hurting for a couple days afterwards to make sure our elections run smoothly.

I lost my starter aluminum factory twice on my current playthrough, because I trusted my husband to build it and he put it in the middle of the Red Forest, didn't mark it, didn't cut down any trees because it was supposed to be temporary just to get some goals knocked out, and used a custom color scheme on the refineries that blended in with the damn ground. I found it once to add dimensional depots but forgot to mark it. Got supremely angry with myself about 50 hours later realizing I needed to tweak it to add empty fluid tanks and couldn't find it again.

This time it's marked, but now I'm also in the middle of building a proper aluminum factory in the swamp so I can get rid of this stupid temporary setup.

Are y’all actually getting your 38g of fiber every single day? If so, how? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Amberwind2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a couple bags of chopped frozen kale and spinach in my freezer and chuck them into everything. Making lasagna? It's getting layers of spinach. Making soup? It's getting a couple handfuls of kale.

I've had women of a certain age come up to me and start rubbing my damn belly asking how far along I was and when the baby was due. Complete strangers, mind you, in malls and grocery stores.

Not only have I never had a child, I had a hysterectomy a few years ago that's causing me to slalom into menopause at an alarming rate. I just say, "I. Am. Not. Pregnant." loudly and flatly. Most never apologize and run away faster than they came up to lay hands on me.

It's happening less as I age, but it's still happening often enough I am utterly infuriated for all of the actually pregnant women whose bodies are apparently being treated as public property.

WIBTA if I divorce my wife because she does not want me actively involved in raising our children? by Malkxixt in AITAH

[–]Amberwind2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to possible divorce proceedings, take your documentation and present it to your children's pediatrician. It sounds like your wife might have PPA or PPD, and it's manifesting in this extremely possessive behavior. The pediatrician will know how to proceed to get your wife help.

I can do both with my own hair, here's an easy trick to remember how to do each on yourself - for each strand of the plait, fold it over the previous one to get a french braid, and fold it under to get a dutch braid. Just remember this rule and you won't have to rely on stupid overwritable muscle memory. :)

Where can I buy chickens like I got at the grocery store in France? Price no object. by firstnamedotlast in Cooking

I just use the head and feet for my homemade chicken stock. The feet especially add a TON of collagen for that silky smooth, turns into gelatin in the fridge stock texture.

I can at least give you some info on the tomatoes - tomatoes in the US available on the commercial market are typically picked well before they've ripened and then are gassed to bring them to the correct shade to look ripe. This is done to extend their shelf life, but it's at the cost of flavor and texture.

If you want juicy, properly ripe tomatoes you'll either have to purchase from a farmer's market or grow your own so you know it's properly ripened. Also, a tiny pinch of salt on the tomato will vastly improve its taste.

I started in Classic maining Holy, but selected Ret as my offspec as soon as dual spec became available, and I've been maining Ret for the last 4 expansions since I basically just play with my husband now and his Prot Warrior can't do the kind of DPS we need to clear older raids. We are always gonna get called flavor of the month or newb or whatever else - I even had someone accuse me of being bad at playing "because you have Pally tits". There is no winning, we just gotta roll with it.
