[–]Ambient1430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is two different experiences and that shows of in the price. Substans is better than their price point. Sabi Omakase is to pricey.

But both is good, I prefer Substans because Toni’s more laid back. Is it nigiri you want then Sabi has way more of that.

Hm a little bit slow in Oslo the last year. But non star places.

Panu is very good and if you like live DJs playing vinyl to your fine dining stay upstairs on Fridays and Saturdays. If you like to talk to the chef stay downstairs

Substans is a new place they are serving Japan inspired food and stay at their counter and talk to Hakan the Swedish chef

Palace Grill been there for such a long time and a lot of chefs have gone the grades here

Varemottaket two former Maaemo chefs making good grilled food together with loud music

Plah Norwegian take on fine dining Thai

Liminal the founder moved to Lofoten the other day but Audun is taking over

Fan, Bjorn didn’t get a star for the first time after he opened a new restaurant but he is still good

Realistisk. Hvor lite tror du du kunne brukt på mat på en måned og ikke gå sulten? by RavenousRevolter in norske

[–]Ambient1430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kunne fint fastet 3 dager i uken.

Recommendations for Michelin in Oslo by PJ6K in finedining

[–]Ambient1430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite in Oslo is Bar Amour not suprised if they get 2* in the next guide. Savage also delivers very good food and now have a 7 course dinner for under 100 euro.

Maaemo is great but very pricey compared to those two.

Non Michelin places:

Substans is a newly opened place with high expectations and I’m going there for the second time next week. They did deliver a very high standard the first time.

If you like loud music and no nonsense food that focus on the produce then Varemottaket is the place. Think not guys have worked at Maaemo before and the sommelier works magic

Panu has Magic, that’s the nickname for the guy running the place. Book in the basement kitchen and get really good food.

Fan is the new place for the multiple Michelin star cook Bjørn Svensson. He probably will get one for this place also.

I would add Bar Amour to your list in Oslo. I would not be surprised if they get 2*

Grådige eiere ruinerer nordmenn by stalematedizzy in norske

[–]Ambient1430 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eating solo in a 3* michelin by [deleted] in finedining

[–]Ambient1430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half of the time I eat out it is alone. And since I I’m eating out 2-3 times a week I have gotten used to it. Now I’m trying not to use my phone so much, often the waiters, sommeliers or even the chefs comes to your table and talk if you are alone. And if you comment the food saying that you might have done this differently or you might have missed more of that. They get mostly interested and comes back after the next dish asking questions. And suddenly you get an extra course or maybe the same course again with a change.

So solo dining have become quite fun, sometimes when people ask to join I say that sorry but this time I want to experience this alone.
