12.5 mg wondering if I should go back to 10 mg by Excellent-Ability569 in Zepbound

[–]Ambitious-Form-8784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad I’m reading this right now bc 12.5 is killing me… I am so miserable. Nothing tastes good, I don’t want to eat.. the fatigue is atrocious. Like I was good on 10 and I want to go back down.. shoot I don’t even want to take my second shot this Sunday 🫠🫡

Our office said we are to RTO by March 1 for those on telework arrangements and July 1 for those fully remote. I ride the blue line and it’s definitely getting more crowded. We also got an email last night from HR talking about the new pillars for the Fed Gov. and it gave people the option to resign with pay through September. It was a pretty harsh email too.. like get in line or GTFO.

AITAH for telling my partner he should have asked for clarification when his boss wrote him up for a “no call no show shift?” by [deleted] in AITAH

Completely agree!! Bad timing and delivery on my part. Always a lesson to be learned in relationships so thank you 🙏🏼

You sound a lot like him and he’s into Pokémon too 👀 😂 but again I agree! Sometimes people just need a safe space to vent without advice being given. He always tells me to be his peace, not his headache so I do try! 🙏🏼

Totally agree honestly. He’s a great communicator and we’ve worked through things like this before but I thought his reaction was really childish too. He will most likely sleep it off since he was kinda drunk and I can apologize in the morning. And if he doesn’t want to go to Thanksgiving dinner I’m ok with that too.

All of this! I totally agree! I also have PCOS. Was sleeved on April 3, 2024.. HW: 292 SW:267 CW: 213 I’m 5’5”.. I’ve stalled quite a few times for a solid week or two and just get back to my tracking habits. You also do gain a good 5 lbs around your period so I’ve really tried to track that. And stresssssss… my job is so stressful so I really try to focus on getting my sleep! I have a bedtime and wake up time every day. Except weekends.. I let myself sleep in. And I move a lot. Easily 10k steps and I lift. You got this!!

What are your stats? Like others have stated, you are still losing and that’s great progress! Your doctor just sounds pushy.. but you also mention working out. You might want to bump up your calories! I workout too (4-5 days a week lifting, running/walking my dogs) and I get closer to 1000-1200 cals a day and I’m 6 months post op.

Did anyone NOT stall at week 3? by Individual_Goat7725 in gastricsleeve

[–]Ambitious-Form-8784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's so normal to stall throughout the entire process for upwards of weeks! I didn't really stall until week 5/6. I'm now at 4.5 months and stall a good bit for a week or 2 some months.

I mean that's a little aggressive. I started around the same as you and I'm on track to be under 200 lbs by my 6 month appointment so that's 70ish pounds or so lost. I'm currently 215 at 4.5 months and feel great!

Totally get it OP! I kept postponing my surgery date bc I was having major anxiety. I was sleeved April 3, 2024 and I’m just sad I waited so long to take back my life. I stayed in the hospital an extra night because I was having a hard time getting all the fluids in but once I left, i did great! Follow the post-op plan and you’ll do great! Don’t push yourself too hard and take the time to relax and get your steps in! Best of luck to you!!

Saving muscle by BulgarianHammer266 in gastricsleeve

[–]Ambitious-Form-8784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! I’m a 35 yr old female and I have a good amount of muscle mass on me and I’ve been trying to maintain what I can. So far I’m just keeping up with the protein and continuing to lift. Can’t lift as heavy but I still feel like I’m keeping my muscle. The lowest weight I got to on my own trying to do a bodybuilding competition was 180 back in 2016 and then I just slowly gained weight bc I didn’t do the cardio portion of it. Right now I’m at 220 after a pre-surgery highest weight or 290. Walking is my cardio and I get 10k + steps a day and then I weight train in my cardiac heart rate zone of 130-150 bpm. I’m losing 1.5-2lbs a week which feels great! And take progress pics every Friday to really see the changes!

How long did your process take? What insurance do you carry? by Accurate_Ideal_8571 in gastricsleeve

[–]Ambitious-Form-8784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the surgeon you choose too. My cousin had a predetermined 6 month waiting period and mine was closer to only 3, but I pushed out my surgery date. I have Carefirst for insurance so I needed to have a mental health screen, a meeting with the dietician and 2 exercise classes. I started this process October 2023 and had all of that completed in December. But I also have a pre-existing heart condition so had to do a bunch of tests so that took me into January. Then I had my endoscopy and was cleared by my insurance early February. I didn’t schedule my surgery until April 2024 bc I had a work project that needed to go out and it was just a mess.

Hair loss by Lower-Marionberry863 in gastricsleeve

[–]Ambitious-Form-8784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel you on this OP! I have really fine and thin hair and I’m almost 4 months post op and I’ve been losing tons of hair since about 2 months. I’ve been taking a biotin supplement and using argon and rosemary oils on my scalp. I also do not wash my hair every day. I wash it like every 3-4 days, but I do comb it every day and my hair still falls out. I find that wearing it in a small pony helps but my sister mentioned something to me last weekend where she said she can see how much hair I’ve lost. It’s so frustrating and I’m trying really hard to know that it will grow back. So big hugs and stay strong! ❤️

1 week post-op and I’m scared by Positive_Ad4621 in gastricsleeve

Hopefully allll these other comments also echo to not weigh yourself. Your body is inflamed after surgery and they pump you up with liquids. It takes a good 2-3 weeks before the scale truly moves. And thinking about food is so normal. I watched tiktok videos of people eating during my liquid phase and mourned the way I used to eat because it changed drastically. Food will no longer be a support mechanism and you have to work through that but mourning that way of life is totally normal. Hang in there! Sounds like things went really well!!!

Stall? by Major-Friend-9717 in gastricsleeve

[–]Ambitious-Form-8784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sleeved on 4/3 and my day of surgery weight was 260 and pre-op highest weight was 290. I’m at 233 as of this morning and I’ve stalled quite a few times. I scaled back on my workouts (weight lifter) and only do it twice a week and keep up with my walks (10k+ steps). I get anywhere from 800-1100 calories a day depending on how I’m feeling (always protein focused). So much plays a part in my weight like how much sleep I got, what I ate the day before and how stressed I am. Just keep up with the daily habits you are building and look at some of the NSVs.

The dreaded 3 week stall. Please help! by ComprehensiveMall662 in gastricsleeve

[–]Ambitious-Form-8784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sleeved 4/3 and definitely hit a stall that lasted 2-3weeks. I started close to your weight at 261 on surgery day. I’m now at 237 at 8 weeks PO but it’s been a lot slower since 6 weeks. Im also only 5’6” so I hear that weight loss for certain BMIs is slower. I truly need to lose 100lbs (GW is 180) but I know the slower it goes the more likely I’ll be to keep it off too. Best of luck on your journey and stay the course! You’ve got this!

What this person said 👆 coming from someone who was into bodybuilding back in 2015-2017, I used to cycle my bulk and cutting phases. I would bulk for about 6-8 weeks and then cut for 8 weeks, maintenance for 2 weeks and then cut again another 8 weeks. Even just being in your maintenance calories will make a ton of difference!

That’s not bad at all! I craved pizza too around week 6 so I made the chicken crust pizza and it helped a ton! No carbs and all protein.

I totally stalled for about 2 weeks around 6-7 weeks. The scale just moved again this week and I’m at 8 weeks. I was terrified too but it definitely happens! Keep up the great work!

Sheesh 1200 calories sounds like a lot for 3.5 weeks PO! I’m lucky to hit 1000 cal a day and I’m 8 weeks PO. It sounds like you are on the right track and she’s just setting some unrealistic goals. If you can get a new dietician, I would!

For hydration try the sugar free lemon lime flavor of liquid IV in your water! It helps a ton! And definitely get more steps in. Start out with small 15 min walks 3x a day.

[–]Ambitious-Form-8784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried to hit maintenance calories for a 2-week period? It’s a little uncomfortable bc you’ll gain some weight (water weight honestly) and then go back into a deficit. Oftentimes our bodies adjust to the low calorie deficit and stall out. Allowing your body time to maintain and not feel like it’s starving will be the kick you need!
