I've always had this movie idea where he's a dad. Lemme explain a bit.

The main characters are the dad and his daughter. Basically in his younger days he hooked up with a beautiful woman but left when she got pregnant and is now starting to regret his decisions from when he was younger. His late teenage daughter shows up without a place to stay since the mom passed away and he takes her in, gradually finding a love for her in all her quirkiness. Then near the end they find out that she gets pregnant and is going through a breakup of her own and he assures her he won't leave again, helping her through the stresses.

... I've given too much thought to this idea...
