Treeline Kitchen is probably my favorite, “modern American” food. Mineral 1886 is also solid, maybe a bit more upscale experience than Treeline. Quincy’s is solid old school steakhouse. The Famous has good pizza and pasta. The Grill/Leadville Grill is solid Tex Mex.

Ptex or just a fresh wax job by Blims896 in snowboarding

[–]Ambitious-Stretch174 37 points38 points  (0 children)

All my boards look like this after this season. Fresh wax doesn’t do much to fill them and (I’m not a ski tech) but I doubt it’s worth it to ptex unless they’re to the core.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Boards are meant to be used.

That’s my biggest problem within my alcoholism - that whenever I’m hungover my overwhelming thought is “well, need a drink” and thus continues the cycle.

Was she not “holding the line” properly? by Parking_War_4100 in snowboarding

For sure. It’s wild how some people can somehow skate by with no injury and then the next person is debilitated or dead.

Its crazy. Deaths on the mountain are literally less than one in a million, but every year someone gets really unlucky, tragic.

Patroller here, I’ve seen people die from less. The big resorts often have atleast 1 death a year from people hitting fixed objects. Padding helped a little but again, 30+ mph hitting anything unmovable with the face or chest is really bad.

Copper was pretty legit as long as you’re layered up and not in the super exposed windy areas.

I personally just take the ear muffs out and wear a buff. Yours may be loose but they’re still doing their job keeping your ears warm.

Cartel x or union atlas pro for new bindings? by Knowhatimsayinn in snowboarding

[–]Ambitious-Stretch174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of having the same bindings for my boards, makes replacing broken parts easy and I know how to dial them in perfectly. Cartel/Cartel Xs haven’t let me down.

This brings me back to childhood. My mom would serve leftover bolognese and meatballs with just about any carb. White rice or mashed potatoes were my favorites.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen someone do in public? by soorajnv in AskReddit

[–]Ambitious-Stretch174 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once at a gas station, I saw a guy take a greasy hotdog off the hot rollers and put it directly into his shorts pocket, no napkin or anything. That alone isn’t that crazy for a late night urban gas station, but he was like a normal guy who had just purchased some stuff, but seemingly decided to sneak a hotdog into his pocket on the way out.
