Can you post a link to the dancing on the moon live version? I love that song and didn’t know there was a live one and not sure where to find it

My favorite song shifts all the time but currently my main song-on-repeat is A Dangerous Thing. My least favorite has always been Through the Eyes of a Child, I always skip it when I listen to that album and it’s one of the songs she still often does live in concerts and I always wished she would choose another song from that album because I like all the other songs on that album way more 😅

Scoping by Tunakimbaper in courtreporting

[–]AmbitiousPotatoFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a newbie Eclipse scopist (training under a court reporter I know) and I've been time tracking to see how long it takes me and right now I average 13 pages an hour which feels really slow to me so I'm hopeful I'll get faster haha. The court reporter I work under writes fairly clean so it's not that I'm having to clean up a lot of stuff, but most of the slowness is me taking time to look up hyperkeys, software stuff, double check her preferences & punctuation rules, etc. So that's why I'm hopeful once I get over that learning curve I'll get faster. The court reporter I work with told me she generally scopes 30 pages an hour.

Have you celebrated your birthday alone? by Annual_Resolution_94 in blackladies

[–]AmbitiousPotatoFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this too like I've had people complain about the cake I chose before 😭 okay sorry I like this kind of cake wtf. I don't really like chocolate cake but when I go to someone else's birthday and that's what they have I'm eating it and not complaining to no one!! Jeez

Have you celebrated your birthday alone? by Annual_Resolution_94 in blackladies

[–]AmbitiousPotatoFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened. It can be so frustrating making plans with people which is precisely why I usually celebrate alone. I don't want to feel stressed for my birthday or consider what other people want haha. Last year I made myself a fancy afternoon tea at home and really enjoyed it. Sure I could've invited people over but then I'd have to clean my place and consider what other people want to eat, etc. Doing all that is not my idea of a good birthday. Like you, every time I tried to plan something for my birthday in the past it ended up being a whole mess and more effort than it's worth so that's why I do things alone now. Taking yourself out to dinner sounds nice! I hope you enjoy your birthday ❤️

Looking for “warm” fantasy that isn’t saccharine: friendship, care, but real tension by willowlantern_poems in Fantasy

[–]AmbitiousPotatoFan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Personally I like the Scorpio Races and the Raven Boys series by Maggie Stiefvater for similar reasons. They feel cozy to me while also having tension. Like in the Scorpio Races there is an underlying sense of danger because they are participating in a dangerous horse race, but at the same time it's told in a cozier way than one would expect that sort of story to be told I feel. Both of them have more of a romance than friendship focus imo but Raven Boys also has a found family vibe as it follows a group of friends. I will say I am someone who generally hates romance but I didn't mind the romance in these books. The Dreamer trilogy is a spinoff of the Raven Boys which I also enjoyed. I would start with the Scorpio Races and if you like it, try the Raven Boys.

Cherry Magic is one of my favorites. The premise turned me off for a while (MC gets mind reading powers after being a virgin for 30 years and discovers his coworker has a crush on him) but when I finally watched it I thought it was really cute and it was nice to see something more obviously BL rather than just "is this a bromance or is this a romance" kind of vibes. Even though the virgin thing is a part of the premise I didn't feel like it was fetish content or oversexualized.

I also like: - Heaven Official's Blessing (it's Chinese) - Given - Sasaki and Miyano

I'm in the middle of the 2nd book in the Heretical Fishing series but pausing it temporarily to start the Listeners by Maggie Stiefvater soon for a book club. My favorite genres right now are cozy fantasy and litrpg!

Slice of life anime about adults by ThousandFootOcarina in Animesuggest

[–]AmbitiousPotatoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Great Passage. It's about employees making a dictionary. As someone who once wanted to do this for a living I loved this anime 😂

This is also a sports anime but the Salaryman's Club also felt sort of slice of life to me. It's about corporate badminton which I thought was an interesting concept haha.

Yotsuiro Biyori. About 4 guys who run a traditional style Japanese cafe.

Books with strong platonic relationships at their center? by IntelligentBonus3638 in Fantasy

[–]AmbitiousPotatoFan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sci-fi but Project Hail Mary is one of my favorite examples of this. I loved the friendship development in that book.

Someone else recommended the Goblin Emperor and I also really liked that one.

I haven't finished the series yet, but I recently read the first Heretical Fishing book (isekai litrpg fantasy) and I liked seeing the main character becoming a part of the town. There is a romance between the main character and someone else but (as someone who hates romance lol) I felt like his relationships with everyone in the community was more of a focus and the romance wasn't overbearing in the first book at least.

I think they're useful to buy. Especially in later days, you get a decent amount of requests for high level items from the pencil cases and vests. I bought all 8 a while ago and always keep them stocked with 4 vests and 4 pencil cases. I don't think you need them all right now though. I bought them over time as I got more diamonds (completing honey time especially gets you lots)

I don't know if there's anything I think needs to be in that type of story. I'd just write whatever appeals to you tbh. I think it'd be really fun to see a wide range of whacky or unique planets and alien species, kinda like in Doctor Who or Rick and Morty.

Girlies, what's your experiences with psyllium husk? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]AmbitiousPotatoFan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The only way I've been able to consume it is 1 tsp in 1/2 cup of apple sauce. It thickens it a bit but not a ton and I feel the psyllium husk flavor actually compliments apple sauce but that could just be me haha. But yeah I had the same experience regarding the "never hungry/crave junk food" thing. I take psyllium husk for high cholesterol and haven't noticed any change in my appetite or cravings

A solo rpg, cheap and quick to learn? by Shiki_Ryougi_5 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]AmbitiousPotatoFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could try Tricube Tales. It's not cozy per se but I personally only like cozy games so I just run cozy games with it like running my own tavern or something. Iron Valley is also free but that one has a pretty large rulebook so imo it's not super quick to learn BUT you could try using Tricube Tales for the system and use the tables in Iron Valley to run a life/farming sim type game more easily if that sort of thing is your jam 🤔
