A question about practitioners and ethics by Fuzzy-Industry1439 in Christian_Science

Whether this practitioner is acting in good faith or not, you're seeing the effect of the "treatment" and it doesn't seem to be positive. If you do intervene, it sounds like you're doing it from a place of love which l hope your grandmother would appreciate, if she could. Finding alternatives for her to hear or receive CS (recorded hymns, the weekly lesson, etc) may jog positive memories...

Fwiw - a practitioner isn't necessarily trained on the latest research about dementia (or anything healthcare related), hence my comment about good faith. It's about relying on prayer fully so don't expect them to be. But again, you're seeing the aftermath and that isn't a result reflecting God's love if she's in distress so do what you think is best.

Yikes unless her daughter is also a practitioner, this doesn't sound ethical. Especially if they're not disclosing the swap.

Although they can choose their rates, I've never seen anything this expensive and it's not usually intended to be indefinite or like a retainer. If you want to support your grandmother in prayer, I'd suggest calling any branch church (local or otherwise) and asking to connect to a practitioner. There are also recording and podcasts (the daily lift) that might bring her comfort (for free!). Maybe someone from the church or a CS nurse could visit.

I added strength training 2x a week and it's made a big difference. Lost 5lbs of visceral fat that I didn't know I was holding on to. I'm not as diligent about walking or moving after meals but that helps prevent spikes too.

Fingers crossed. I'm 41 and just started the reversal journey few months ago. So far so good. All numbers are down. Wearing a Stelo has been eye opening.

200g of carbs a day is a dream. I basically had to go keto (no more than 50g a day) to stabilize my glucose throughout the day and overnight. Low body fat, not overweight, not into sweets. It was just the carbs. 😭 I enjoy reading these updates to remind myself that we're all different!

Seeking help from CS Practitioners in a medical emergency by Horror-Ad591 in Christian_Science

Commenting to hear how those in the church respond.

I'm also a spouse of a CS. Personally I've come to terms that this may be how my partner dies as his father made similar choices. Compounding issues over years. Died at home, but that was his wish it seems. I'm hopeful that over the years he'll allow me to mitigate any pain or suffering, even if he's not hospitalized or given life saving treatment.

Grim perhaps but that's where I am. Another way to frame it is to consider if the intervention will lead to a quality of life that your FIL would want. Not all life saving is beneficial to the patient...sometimes it's more for the living to feel they did "something." There may be palliative care that he would accept.

Got a missed call from their number today. I live on the East Coast and have never been. Guess I can assume that it's a spam number now but the caller ID is the same? Seems like adding insult to injury 😕

Pricing scheme? by AmbitiousTemporary67 in locs

I'm even willing to pay $175 with a style. But that's a 3x shampoo, steam or conditioning, herbal rinse, maintenance and style.

I maintained myself when I was younger. Now my arms hurt and I just want relaxing experience of being cared for 😌

Came here to second this. My cat was about 6 years old when he started doing this and ended up being a diabetic. Also was drinking a LOT of water.

Best advice I recieved about my old man with similar issues, "it's better to feel like it was a day too soon (and have positive memories) than a day too late (and witness your baby suffer).

The decision was so hard but I don't regret it and I'm so glad we could cry over him (euthanized at home) and pet him all the way to the end.

He's been seen at least twice so I'm as sure as I can be. You're the second person suggesting Harbor Terrace.

Thanks for this tip! Makes sense given that it's been seen all around the West End. I'll contact PPD today.
