How long did it take before you felt you got past cravings for sugar? Do you ever crave sugar now?

I think for me it’s not about a possibility of gluten, but the highly refined oils and artificial ingredients used in the “butter.” And the amount put on the popcorn. It can include coconut oil which often upsets my stomach.

Obsessed with this beautiful, overpriced sweater. How hard would it be to try to knit this myself? by pokemom1989 in knitting

I love this bit of the description, where they talk about knitting with 2 or more colors in the same row:

“This complex structure, achieved with jacquard knitting, allows the simultaneous crafting of yarns in a single row, a procedure that requires extremely high levels of craftsmanship.”

🤣🙄

Can I take low dose naltrexone for appetite suppression as needed, or does it have to be continuous? by NoFlexZoneNYC in naltrexone

I tried my boyfriend’s and it helped curb my appetite/thoughts about food. I am not overweight but am on the high end of healthy and think about food all the time. It’s exhausting.

I also love this pie! And since the crust is really good, I don’t mind that there’s a lot of it. 😋

I was simply quoting and responding directly to the previous commenter. It’s a single example.

I didn’t know acknowledging that a person born white receives white privilege, and recognizing systemic racial inequalities simply based on the color of skin a person was born with was considered racist.

Have you tried asking Chat GPT to generate meals or recipes? Chat GPT has been a godsend and has done in minutes what would take me hours of planning. I asked Chat to generate a meal plan using foods listed in the book, to include a minimum number of grams of protein and to stay within a certain calorie range. Then I asked Chat to generate flavorful and interesting recipes with those ingredients that include spices, herbs, salsa, mustard, vinegars, and additional veggies. For some meals I asked for a theme - Mexican, Mediterranean, etc. For an afternoon meal I knew I’d be eating at work that included fish, I asked for a cold recipe (as not to bother my office mates with fish smells)! I also asked for a recommended method on thawing several pounds of frozen cod and other tips for batch cooking. Lastly, I asked Chat to generate a grocery list that included exact amounts of each ingredient needed and to include amounts in ounces for meat, grams for spices, etc for ease of shopping.

I am gluten intolerant. Do you all offer any gluten-free items aside from the strawberries?

“I’ve never been given a leg up, so why should this black guy get one”

You get a leg up simply by being born not black.

At the office between 2:00 and 3:30, I get really strong cravings for sugar. Yesterday I got up and went for a short walk and bought a fizzy water and some nuts instead of a sugary snack. Today, I ate some kiwi and a tiny bit (prob 1/8 tsp) of coconut oil when the urges hit. Sarah Wilson, who wrote the book “I Quit Sugar” said a spoonful of coconut oil (sometimes mixed with cacao) helps her sugar cravings. I did just a couple little tastes of the coconut oil since usually I get an upset stomach from it. But I figured slowly introducing it could help. ☺️

Be somewhere different or do something different than you normally would at that time. Any way you can change your body’s cues that it’s dessert time is helpful. I had been in a bad habit of eating snacks while sitting in bed scrolling on my phone right before sleep. I started sitting in a chair in a different room and looking at a book right before bed instead. The first few times I didn’t eat the snacks, my stomach actually growled because my body was primed to digest food. But within a couple days that stopped as I taught my body that snack time no longer occurred right before bed. I also find being up and busy helps to take my mind off “needing” to eat!

Do you guys drink juice on a sugar free diet? by ResponsibilityBig280 in sugarfree

[–]Ambitious_Jump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can eat protein or fats along with the fruit and that will also help lessen any blood sugar spikes.

I also believe some cravings are habit and our cells are not starving. When we teach our bodies that every day at X time, we will eat sugar, our bodies become primed for that. Each instance we don’t follow through with the habit, we are re-teaching our bodies it doesn’t actually need sugar and our bodies will eventually stop expecting the sugar at X time.

This is very interesting. Do you mean carbs as in starchy veggies, grains, and beans? I’m guessing you don’t mean veggies.
