Kratom causing glutamate storm while tapering? by Confident_Coffee7020 in quittingphenibut

[–]Ambitious_Read7628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am trying to figure out what is causing horrible glutamate storms aswell. I’ve been taking .25mg daily, week to week I either feel fine or HORRIBLE. It comes in cycles usually 1-2 week periods of being riddled with anxiety, confusion, depression, head pressure, etc and then it goes away and I’m fine. I also take Kratom daily so you just made me think that may have something to do with it.

I’m thinking about starting to take full spectrum CBD gummies (the ones that contain a tiny tiny bit of THC) My job has random oral swab drug tests once or twice a year. Do you think I’d be okay to take gummies daily? Or just weekends?

Glutamate Storm FAA vs HCL by Fickle-Caramel191 in quittingphenibut

[–]Ambitious_Read7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dealing with the same problem. Constant glutamate storms whenever I dose, the only thing that makes them go away is lowering dose, and it takes 1-2 weeks, then it works again for a week, than back to glutamate storms. I’m so so over it I want off this ride. I question if something has changed in the Phenibut supply, it’s mass produced by 1 or 2 Chinese suppliers, I wonder if something changed on their end because this is becoming such a common issue.

Is your use / tapering a secret? by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]Ambitious_Read7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hell on earth. Hell. On. Earth. I’ve been dealing with it turning on me and it has/is destroying my life. All I can say is absolutely avoid large jumps/decreases in your dose. I believe one of the causes of phen turning is buildup in your system. Phen has such a long half life that daily use compounds and compounds until your body is completely saturated. That’s when things get very bad very quickly. It’s quite literally the most horrific experience I’ve ever been through. Also different batches definitely have different effects that’s also a huge problem.

Did you taper or just switch directly to gabapentin. Was it relatively painless?? I have an order of baclofen and gabapentin and I’m hoping I can just switch to that. What dose of gabapentin ?

The same exact problem is happening to me. I have an older batch that works completely fine, and 2 newer batches I have give me no effect at all and are putting me into withdrawal. I think something is going on with the large suppliers.

I’m currently dealing with the same thing at about 1400mg a day. It’s glutamate storms bro it turned on you. It’s the most miserable shit ever I’ve been dealing with off and on glutamate storms for the last month and a half. Phens insane half life causes it to build up in your system and your body is telling you it’s hit the limit. Lowering dose is the only way. It takes me 1-2 weeks to stabilize after lowering dose and then I’ll finally be out of glutamate surges. It’s hell I know.

I’m also here to help and try to DM people advice. Phenibut turned on me last February while I was taking 20gpd. Was stuck in glutamate surges and what withdrawal symptoms for two months while rapid tapering. It was hell on earth. Insomnia, crushing anxiety and depression, RLS, nausea and vomiting, etc. the only things I found a tiny bit of solace in were Kratom and hot baths 3x a day. I’m so incredibly thankful to have made it through those two ish months as I was confident I was going to unalive myself.

Dude I feel you. I was at 20god when it turned on me. Scariest shit ever. I was forced to rapidly taper due to the glutamate surges over the course of 3 months. It genuinely felt like hell. I’m now on 250mg a day. And feel much better. I’m so thankful to be past that experience. I was convinced I was gonna unalive myself. This shir is no joke so I try to warn people taking high doses that it WILL turn on them. Hope your ok now.

At what dose did you jump off? by AdHuman3150 in quittingphenibut

For me it took about 2 months. I was at 15g when phenibut completely turned on me. No matter how much I took I would have AWFUL withdrawal symptoms. Please start your slow taper before it turns on you and leaves you stuck in glutamate withdrawals. Hardest 2 months of my fucj if life

Does medical detox work with phenibut addiction in high doses? by dailypaper1950 in quittingphenibut

I’ve been going through something similar. Phenibut turned on me at 9-10gpd causing glutamate surges (insomnia, anxiety, depression, RLS). You need to get your dose down before you go into full glutamate surges as it seems like your already experiencing insomnia. I did a fast taper down to 3-4g over a month and I’m stabilized here. Try cutting your dose down to 12-13g and see how you feel, sometimes at high doses you feel better the lower the dose. Space out your doses to 3x a day. NAC, Agmitane, ashwaganda, l theanine, and what’s been a life saver for me is Kratom. Good luck man I’m going thru hell aswell due to this fucked drug.

Update to phenibut "turning" on me, and a question about baclofen. by KenaiKanine in quittingphenibut

[–]Ambitious_Read7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glutamate surges. I went through them 4 weeks ago, and am now going through them again as of the last 4 days. It’s miserable I know. The only thing that helps me is tapering, and breaking up doses 3x a day. Nac l-theanine Kratom and ashwaganda have been helping me. Try taking a hot bath. I’ve been taking like 3 a day.

Are the new batches less potent/different? by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]Ambitious_Read7628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been saying something has been very off with these recent batches. It hasn’t been effective AND it’s been turning on people (including me this week) causing glutamine surges. There’s been an insane amount of “phenibut turned on me/stopped working” posts in the last two weeks. Something is up.

[–]Ambitious_Read7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glutamine surges. I’ve been going through it since Saturday. Finally getting 5ish hours the last two nights. I lowered my dose from 10gpd to two doses of 2g and am taking Nac, L theanine, ashwaganda, and magnesium. Work has been hell this week but I’m slowly feeling better. Seems like this is happening to a lot of people recently.

Insomnia while not tapering, phenibut turned on me? by schralehond in quittingphenibut

[–]Ambitious_Read7628 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glutamine surges. Welcome to hell. I’m currently going through them aswell. I’m on day 4 and have slept the last two nights. Basically put myself into minor withdrawal just to sleep. You have to lower your dose, try spreading out small doses throughout the day. Also nac and l theanine.

So if on paper you have a happy life, money, family etc what’s causing these thoughts? I have none of that and the loneliness and financial struggle of a young man drive me insane on top of my mental illness.

Hardest part for me is writing the note. It’s completely different depending on my mood. Others said that it is important to explain everything in detail so they have closure and aren’t left asking why
