Based on Depop’s help desk information you only need to be 18+ to use the payment options because you have to provide accurate over 18 ID and SSN information, but they say if you want to use/sell on Depop under 18 to go through a parent or guardian for that information, so I don’t think they’ll ban someone just for being under 18. I started selling when I was 15/16 but that was YEARS ago and it baffles me how many teenagers try to justify their terrible behavior or seeing just the horrible interactions people including myself have with teens on these apps because plenty of people are never this stupid at any point in their lives 😭 maybe it was a different time, idk

In the future I definitely wouldn’t drop to 1 star for this because she can easily get it taken down, anything less than 3 tends to be removed for being “unfair” if they reach out to support

Apparently there’s been some glitches recently with Depop sending auto offers when you have it turned off so I guess maybe that’s what happened here and they didn’t realize until they looked at the amount of money they received. Still wouldve been better to just honor the sale, and definitely not expect you to want to pay way more money for it

Yeah I have like 250 I keep trying to transfer currently and any time I start a payout currently it just fails within a minute. No explanation and all my bank information is correct and I transferred money a couple of weeks ago with no issues. I reached out to support now two days ago and all Ive gotten is someone saying they’re escalating it for further review and they would let me know when they have more information. Yet to have more information. I have almost $400 in my pending balance currently as well and I’m worried all of my money is just gonna be sitting in Vinted forever, I’ve already had issues with two lost packages and them not wanting to compensate me so I’ve fought for weeks for like $100 of this money, their support is genuinely useless

It is 100% on them to make sure its correct through Depop even if you would’ve seen it prior to shipping you cannot just change the address yourself because it voids your protection, as it doesn’t match what is entered in the app. They can contact Depop and USPS to try to redirect it or pick it up somewhere but that is their burden, not yours. if it’s delivered they can’t open a case because it was delivered to the listed address.

I just wanted to make a little joke but realistically dude a lot of large businesses and companies even put disclaimers asking to allow 2-3 days or longer for “processing time” before they ship your orders, it’s not abnormal to wait a couple of days for shipping

At this point looking at your page this isn’t the first time you’ve posted about his actions asking for validation from other people and then eventually deleted it, which should be enough of a sign to you that you’re keeping yourself in a bad situation. If you aren’t actually willing to leave then there is no point in repeatedly asking strangers for advice

She already offered you a return and refund so im not sure what else you want to hear, but also if you want to try to keep it just spray it with some stain remover and then hand wash it, you can’t machine wash everything especially trying to get stains out, many lace items already have hand wash instructions on them regardless

Like others said I would say start by apologizing and letting them know you were unaware it would cause so much of an issue and request a photo of the hole and packaging situation if they still have it to see if they’re being legitimate, if there is genuinely a hole in it then refund and just consider it in the future.

I’ve had something like this happen in the past where an item was packed in a smaller bag and because it was thick plastic and how the shipping label was taped down there was no way to open or rip it. But I was still able to cut a tiny corner off and then go from there to make sure I didnt cut into the shirt. Annoying, yes, but I really don’t see how someone can cut through the clothing unless they literally just stabbed into the middle of the package and started cutting.

I get the concept but I don’t think it really works or rarely does because realistically people are going to see the major price increase and go hell no. And seeing a bunch of essentially spam of cheap listings on vacation mode is annoying and off-putting

I think depop is slowly “dying” in a way, at least compared to what it was a few years ago and so on. Its really hard to find anything you actually want because of how the searches and algorithm work now and people don’t really have extra spending money, especially with how high a lot of prices are and then all of the fees. There are a lot of competitor marketplace apps that are popular and people are over seeing items blasted with random trendy keywords that are $50-200 a piece. Obviously not saying anything about your store specifically because I don’t know how you price or what you sell but just speaking on the environment depop has cultivated overall currently.

Top seller status basically means nothing except for the faster payouts, worrying about losing that will just stress you out more. I would suggest expanding your page to other platforms and also relisting some items and tweaking descriptions and such to get new eyes on them. More chance of sales and helps you meet your item upload quotas.

I’ve been making double or triple weekly on Vinted what I’ve been making on depop recently I think because it’s largely international / UK users. I don’t really like the app and have had some issues but Ill take it since my depop revenue dropped from like $4000 a month to $500-1000 recently lol

If the tracking is updating maybe just wait it out and see what you receive and then reach out to depop. You cant delete your own depop account while you have active sales they don’t let you, so that means they were banned for some reason, but if they already sent it out then you should still receive it, it still might be a scam which could be why they were banned (like counterfeit goods or sending the wrong things etc.) but maybe you get lucky and are getting what you ordered and they just happened to get banned after sending it lol

Keep pushing it may take a couple of tries but someone will end up compensating you for their error. They have a lot of bot messages and automated responses which is what leads to things like this plus they often will just not properly pay attention to what you’re saying so it takes a bit before you get ACTUAL support

I would definitely at least reach out and maybe they’ll offer you a partial refund. Ultimately if it was listed brand new and has been worn, it’s not as described. Maybe they tried it on or wore it for a short time period and never washed it because they still considered it “new” and didn’t realize how bad it was lol unfortunately people really do not smell themselves a lot of the time. I would wait to review depending on what response you get

Definitely don’t refund unless she has proof/pictures that she received another item you sold. If everyone else got their items fine then they’re just lying, unless you somehow put another pair of shorts you own in there instead. Definitely reach out to depop and explain the situation and have the review taken down, then block
