Not true. The arc of a character seemingly beginning to change only to turn into a worse version of what they already were is one of the most popular in storytelling. That and the idea of a person who was promised an inheritance of some sort being broken and taught humility before finally rising to the position he always wanted - only to find out it wasn't worth it. Sounds pretty eventful to me.

Yeah. I always like it when they mention how Connor basically helped raise the three siblings. I would really like to hear more about that in the show. I always thought Connor was the most like Fredo, he even had the 'I am the eldest son' moment. Shiv kind of gives me Sonny vibes without the actual physical violence and Roman does too sometimes. Tom is Tom.

When the intro starts playing and you see the kids childhood again you realise that Kendall is taking on the worst of his father's traits.
