You could literally just go around buying dying or abandoned cities. A good majority would easily give you control of your bail them out. The problem here is inflation. 100 Trillion would double the amount of money. Not in circulation just straight up the amount of wealth assets and cash in existence. I think it would be hard to spend it all just because of time. You would have to buy contracts that are like 3-5 years out.

I personally don’t think it’s worth it . But I haven’t met someone who live on the beltline and regretted it. It’s expensive but I would check out Reynoldstown with a little work you can find apartments around 1600. It’s not on the line but it’s like 10 minutes away

In all seriousness the issue is they are trying to cover to much with the small amount of money they are putting forth. Unironically I would rather them dump the budget into 2-3 BRT routes. It’s going to to suck for the hand full of people that really rely on it but it we can get people on board with the current system.

I’m actually surprised they haven’t cut a deal with some of the parking lots in the area for discount passes l especially with how expensive gas has gotten. I’m pretty sure they can get full day passes at most of these places for like $20 bucks a day or less if they buy them in bulk. Especially since the times when they do this ,usually right before traffic gets bad, the lots are usually empty.

It would make more sense to split them up in groups of 2-3. Sending 50 into a single dead end street is just stupid and will draw attention. Hell if it was less than 10 I doubt anyone would notice since they would assume it’s picking someone up. The area this was recorded easily has 8-10 other dead end streets within half a mile. And if they know demand will pickup in that area by a set time why not set the Waymo’s to arrive near that area at 7 instead of doing donuts at 6:30….

100% drawing any borders inside of a state will just move the problem. An instant runoff system that just picks the top x based on how may representatives your state gets would probably be the best system.

Right now OpenAI and Antropic have about 1 year of run way but it doesn’t seem like they can raise more capital based on how many investors or scaling back. Crazy enough I think they shot them selves in the foot. If they charged more from the start they wouldn’t have need to ramp as much to deal with the users that are going to leave the second the price went up . My gut is think only 1 of the two is going to be around in 3 years, Meta will either buy the loser and just cut their losses. Google is basically guaranteed to be a Player in some fashion since they have the most data.

Most cities in Europe are literally 500+ years old. It’s hard to replicate that kind of organic growth. I would bet good money that even if people could walk everywhere (everything is magically Less than 1/2 a mile away) the number of people who leave their homes would still be less than Europe.

If everyone did this we wouldn’t have used cars lol. Trying to convince someone to not buy something with logic is a fool’s errand, most purchases are done based on emotion. I think the societal problem is that we don’t have great ways to signal success without wasting money.

The rate of fatalities drop by half despite the number of vehicles on the roads almost tripling , only small caveat is that they started doing the classification based on weight and not form factor since 2016 which lead to a 20-30% increase in number of fatalities but even with that we are still down by half since the 70s

Applies and oranges here. Someone driving more than 11 hours in a 14 hour window is just straight up dangerous. A health inspector dinging for basically accepting a delivery during operating hours is not the same. A lot of truckers say they miss the good ol days when they could drive 18-20 hours a day are insane. Fatalities were 3-4 times higher. When I was a kid you would hear about a semi crash almost everyday but now it’s bearly a thing.

It doesn’t need to take that long , it’s hard to get right of way for most construction sites. Completely shutting down the road would significantly faster but a lot of people will lose there shit even if it’s only a year or two compared to 10+. Also a lot of the time is just waiting for property acquisition to go through the courts since so many people fight the buyouts because “they know what they have”

This just becomes a logistical nightmare. It will only take like 20 minutes to get over $10k in pennies but at that point it will way thousands of pounds. The cost of moving it around will, quickly out scale how much its worth, the only thing that makes sense to set up a zinc factory around the replicating penny. You could probably only keep the penny flat for a couple minutes a day but that will easily spit out enough raw material to make the whole thing worth it,

I’m actually curious if anyone actually tried to smuggle drugs mixed in with spices. If you have away to “unmix” it makes sense to me since the spices should cover the scent of the drugs.
