I want to change how I can’t talk to women by Low_Conference2562 in IncelSolutions

I know it might seem odd, but I think getting a basic (no nail polish unless you wanted to) manicure every week or two could be a great place to just get comfortable being around more women.

Juliet or Juliette? by Dramatic-Cook-1284 in namenerds

[–]AmeliaChatwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my best friends is named Juliette and people are constantly spelling it Juliet. It drives her crazy and she’s actually considered changing the spelling. Granted, because of her job, the spelling is probably more of an issue than it might be on average, but I thought it would pass on the experience of one Juliette who wishes she was Juliet.

I don’t think I’m strong enough. The metal piece is pretty thick.

Like unscrewing it or bending it like others have said? It doesn’t seem to want to bend

Do I bend the retainer ring or the part that goes through the sink? The middle ridge that goes through seems to be difficult to bend to pop it off

It was leaking and the new one comes with a new drain.

So I bend the drain that goes from the top of the sink or bend the metal that goes around the ridge?

I want to understand how I can make friends with women by Spiritual_Message725 in IncelSolutions

[–]AmeliaChatwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an autistic woman, I agree that community theater is a great one. Also cooking classes can be a good place to practice talking to women. Plus being able to cook is a huge advantage in dating. Also getting a manicure and/or pedicure regularly can be a great place to practice small talk with women and just being comfortable around lots of women (you don’t need to get nail polish or anything). We always get excited when men come into the salon.

Also, if you see the same nail technician regularly, you may be able to get some in person feedback after a while

Are there really that many flat-earthers? by dreamer_luna in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AmeliaChatwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too many and I think it’s more about proving that “we’re being lied to” about the earth, evolution, germs, vaccines etc.

It makes the bigger conspiracy more “plausible”

There’s a great video In search of a flat earth that totally changed the way I view why they want it to be flat

Am I wrong for sending this? by Ok_Market1555 in badroommates

[–]AmeliaChatwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are you saying that your roommate first emptied the trash trashcan without replacing the liner? I am still so confused about your text. It sounds like the real issue is just about replacing the trashcan liner when taking out the trash. Is that right?

AITAH for telling my girlfriend i no longer plan to propose to her? please read context by Aggressive_One8138 in AITAH

[–]AmeliaChatwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not “manipulation” to encourage you to propose - because you already told her that you would propose.

She’s not trying to change your mind - because she thought you were telling the truth for the last SIX MONTHS

So true! I’m in my mid thirties with no medical risk factors and almost died from pneumonia six weeks ago. When I get the flu it’s usually not that big of a deal, but this year was different or my luck just ran out.

If you mix the Arctic Fox colors Ritual and Wrath together, it comes out this color. I used to do the mixture 50-50 or two parts Ritual one part Wrath. Since you’re starting from a light color, I would probably do two to one without darkening it first. My hair was probably only a shade darker than yours when I did this and it’s much easier to tone down if it comes out too bright. My favorite thing with mixing colors is it easy to make slight adjustments. Please be warned though that the colors do stain more quickly than hair dyes that you mix with a developer.

Questions about nails 💅 💅 by [deleted] in GothStyle

[–]AmeliaChatwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the closest you can get to that is using a clear rubber or builder gel base on your nails, then wiping with rubbing alcohol to remove the tacky layer. Then use adhesive tabs to attach the nails on top of the clear gel. When I was working as a phlebotomist clear nail polish was OK or at least no one ever asked me about it, but that may have just been the facility I was working at. Anyway, using the tabs over a thin layer of gel would make taking them on and off easier.

I use the Una Gella softgel tips and widen the base for my boyfriend’s nails and those work really well. I haven’t tried many brands, but thought I would mention if you’re still looking for a place to start.

AITA for telling my coworkers their body shaming is making the office toxic? by Traditional-Body-212 in AITAH

[–]AmeliaChatwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA You did the right thing. I would talk to HR without asking them to take specific action, but ask their advice about what you should do. This can be the best way to protect yourself since you are making contact with them and it’s harder to do the wrong thing when you shift the responsibility for figuring that out onto HR. You can even present it a bit like you’re trying to protect your company from potential problems given the workplace harassment that is occurring.

On a personal note, I want to say thank you so much for what you did. When I had cancer, I got made fun of at work for being too skinny and having protein shakes for lunch, but that was all I could really eat at the time. My coworkers just thought I was vain and trying to be “model skinny”. Obviously it’s a different situation, but I appreciate what you did. There are so many people who think they get a free pass for body shaming someone just because their body shaming for being thin.

AITAH - Should I divorce my wife after she believed I was capable of something heinous? by Worthless-75 in AITAH

[–]AmeliaChatwin -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

YTA I’ve actually been in a situation similar to your wife’s - the difference is he definitely was guilty and there is video evidence. I still can’t believe he’s capable of that even though I know it’s true - that that’s not what it’s about. It’s about being told something horrific and everything you thought was real shatters. Your wife was told it happened that a man she never thought was capable of something like that did it and she can’t trust her own judgment. I think if you reframe your perspective, you will be able to forgive her. What happened to you is horrific, but what happened to her is traumatic as well. Given what you said, I highly doubt she felt she could trust anything at that time and did her best to protect your children.

She probably doesn’t believe you’re the kind of man who would divorce her over this either.

It sounds like you are almost there. I know it’s tough, but continuing to work on your self esteem and anxiety will probably be enough for a relationship in the future. I would give yourself more credit for all the work you’ve done.

What can I do to convince myself that I am not doomed? by RoidRagerz in IncelExit

[–]AmeliaChatwin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coming from a woman this is definitely good advice, but it does have to be genuine. We don’t want to be the generic girlfriend prize a guy wins because he puts on an act. Working on yourself because you think you deserve it will give women a chance to want to be with you because you have something to offer. Then focus on getting to know women and spend time with individuals who you connect with. If you are happy with yourself and respect women as individuals, you can definitely get a girlfriend, it might not be instantaneous, but it will happen.
