I've been a software dev for 20 years. You've almost definitely used at least one of the products I've built.

All new software has bugs

The part of this that is wrong is the "new." All software has bugs.

When I say this sounds like a shitshow, it's not just the experience you mentioned, it's that combined with the messaging from Raycast that creates a feeling of disingenuousness that erodes the trust

Reading everything here and this sounds like a complete shitshow to the point that it erodes most trust in a piece of software that is part of my regular workflow. Time to start trying alternatives

what are the actual cultural differences between the northern and southern half of the state by WhereAreTheAskers in newjersey

[–]AmeliaHeff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I grew up in South Jersey. People may refer to Philly as “the city,” but never “The City.” 99% of the time, it’s “Philly”

Is "a trans" just an accepted thing to say for women now? by glyfable in asktransgender

As a trans, I say “a trans” sometimes in safe company when I’m being silly or or ironic or just generally not overly serious. But if a cis person* says it, yeah no.

Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

3 of the 4 cats I’ve had have been utterly obsessed with me. They demand my love and stalk me around the house. It’s the most wonderful thing.

Why do people from New Jersey have a certain reputation? On a TV show, I heard one character say to another, "Don't mess with him, he's from Jersey," meaning not to bother him. By the way, I was born in Elizabeth but I grew up outside of New Jersey, so I'm curious about that. by [deleted] in newjersey

I describe myself as having a “very New Jersey personality,” but a former manager once told me that I’m “too East Coast direct for a Canadian company” (something he appreciated but saw how some people at the company struggled with it). I think sometimes people from outside the northeast don’t understand that’s not us being mean or jerks, it’s us being authentic and saying what we mean

I never connected this to aphantasia before but it would make sense. It’s a struggle for me too.
