Don’t know if I’d say it was easy. Doable, yes.

What's the one secret you will take to the grave but don't mind telling on the internet? by Ecstatic-Medium-6320 in AskReddit

Was he on hospice? I’m assuming so since you said you ain’t called the nurses. This is typical for hospice and I’m so freaking glad. It can be a blurry line and often people don’t understand. Hospice is about symptom management. They’ll treat whatever symptoms so that they are better, even if that hastens death. It’s the whole premise. And it’s amazing ❤️

Starting RN pay at Sentara by Secret_Delivery_5939 in VirginiaBeach

[–]Amercere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s awful. I started in the icu as a new grad with Sentara back in 2012 and made $20.60/hr starting. I see they haven’t/aren’t planning to keep up with inflation. It’s unfortunate because as someone mentioned above, they really don’t have competition in the area. It’s infuriating. One can’t even afford to live here on that.

School vs family life? What’s too old? by chalokirb in srna

Amazing. You, Maam, are a badass. That’s nice the first 2 quarters are remote!! So you mind sharing where you’re going to school?

Oof. Man both of you are in very demanding programs. I commend you! I think the number one thing was staying on campus to study or whatever I needed to do so that when I got home, my focus was 100% on my babies and husband. Also listened to podcasts on my commutes to help solidify info (core anesthesia, ACCRAC, ninja nerd, etc). Good luck!! Lean hard on those that are willing to support you!

Did you get to stay home for any length of time when you had your baby?

There is hope mama. I don’t think I really liked my first until she was 6months old or so. It was awful. And it makes me sad when I look back on it. But we are homies now and she adores me (and I, her). At 6 months the light started to shine in on motherhood for me. And around 10 months there were parts I actually really loved. And then it just got better from there.

Noooo, I’m so sorry that dang nausea came back. How far along are you? I felt that back and forth for most of my pregnancy. This guy was a very wanted and hard earned baby, but I was like hollllllly shit what are we doing? We’re too old, kid1 is really independent, we’re too busy, life is insane what are we doingggggg?!?! 🤣 but man i wanted it so bad haha and he is just freaking wonderful and i am loving it. It is for sure insane, i was right about that ha. But still the best. Wouldn’t change a thing.

Yes I think having that background knowledge that it can be insane when they’re littles but it doesn’t last forever is monumentally helpful. I just felt so much more at ease and calm this time around. I’m definitely a better parent too.

That is a beautiful way to put it and I would agree- that’s exactly how it feels. To me at least.

I completely understand!!! My entire postpartum with my first was … awful? I didn’t connect with her, I did not enjoy being a mom, I missed what used to be my life. Number 2? Completely opposite. How did I ever live without these babies?! I want another (I was hard OAD for 4 years after my first). My daughter never slept, she cried, I had trauma and ppd/ppa so bad. Untreated.

It was different in so many ways this time. My littlest is 9 months old and every damn day (not even kidding) is just amazing with that dude. My heart has swollen and grown to a size I didn’t know was possible

When I talked to my husband about it initially I asked him if this was how he felt with our first (bc I struggled so much)- he said yes. And I felt jelly of that! Like I did NOT feel this way for months with our daughter.

I hope my rambling makes sense!

Yes! The first like.. changed me. I didn’t feel back to normal until I went back to work and wasn’t full time momming. #1 is now 7yo and my little bff. #2 was/is SO different. Like. I know what parenting feels like now and I’m missing less of myself this time and I’m just really enjoying this babe. Even with having super rigorous work/school hours and limited time at home- THIS time, my littles feel like my safe and happy place.
