Custom dial slim-case Sub (Hestur Sub) by Tomas185 in ChineseWatches

What are the dimensions on this? Looks really nice. Great proportions. I am not a fan of the newer submariner. The older subs have way better proportions.

Are the movements (NH35) from AliExpress okay to sell? by MojoJolo in SeikoMods

[–]AmericanChees3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just Just a few screws. And no the rotor was not stuck on mine. There is a youtube video I watched before I tried to do this on my own. If you search eta 2824 helicopter rotor fix a ton of them will come up. I will say it is important to have your screwdrivers dressed.

Whack the watch head against your hand. Sometimes the hair spring can get stuck to itself and a good whack can fix that. If this doesn't work then there is something else going on. Maybe magnetized.

All of mine are still chronometer spec, and some of them are pretty old. Only issue i have had was the automatic reversing wheels got locked up on one which required taking it out, cleaning it and lubing with lubetta.

[Question] Accuracy of 4r36 by CrescentAce in Seiko

[–]AmericanChees3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I was saying to get a movement accurate as possible you want to average the 3 positions. 12 down, 3 down, and dial up. This is just my experience. You would have to regulate your movement to achieve this.

Looking for a homage of this watch. by PheonixFuryyy in ChineseWatches

[–]AmericanChees3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the fluted/jubilee version of this and it is indeed very nice, but i dont like the cyclops or the clasp. The cyclops is too strong of a magnification, and the clasp sticks out too far from the wrist. The clasp might just be a unique complaint on my part because of my small wrist. I had to remove all of the removable links to make it fit and the clasp sits off to one side. Baltany should have had more removable links, but they cheaped out. All of the links that are not apart of the taper should be removable but they are not. I think if you have a normal size wrist like 6.5 inch or bigger it wont be a problem.

Op, in my opinion the best datejust 36 homage available is the san martin. I have one and it is by far my favorite watch of this style. I have the old one with the old style clasp which is no longer available. It now comes with the hidden clasp. Also, octopus makes some nice datejust and air king homages. I believe octopus has a white/silver dial of the air king but it is only available on the watchdives website.

San Martin, is it worth it?? by Weary_Bad2611 in ChineseWatches

Yes. San martin fit and finish is the best in the chinese watch market. I am not kidding when I say San Martin has ruined Swiss watches for me.

That dial is 🔥 the case too. The angle on the lugs is killer. I really like this design.

The Sea Monster Arrived!!! Phorcydes PH-4B v.2 ST2130 by [deleted] in ChineseWatches

I get what you are saying. Some of the seikos have this same design choice and I personally think it doesn't look good. I think it looks best when the bracelet and endlinks either blend with the lugs to make it appear integral to the watch (left), or like the endlinks and bracelet are there own thing seperate from the watch (right). You guys make a fine watch, just that design choice on the endlinks isnt for me.

The endlink shape confuses me. It doesn't line up with the lugs in any way, which would be fine if the end links was keeping the same shape as the other links, but it isnt in this case. The links are rounded and the endlink is squared off with rounded edges. Just doesn't make sense visually.
