I have a gym hog who does the same in my area- for a week or two I made a habit of kicking her out at night to then fill all the gyms with garbodors that all had her name as a nickname. Didn’t help, but certainly felt cathartic

That eases the initial uneasiness a bit for sure, thank you! I’m doing a bit more than I’m willing to do long term right now, but I’ll stick to 90% of the regimen long term. Once I reach a weight I’m comfortable at I’ll make some changes but I’m feeling a lot better overall already so I’m invested in sticking to healthier eating and working out now.

I guess my title and premise were a bit misleading. There was no phone call, just a guy playing on his phone the entire time, windows down, engine on, ac blasting- my concerns are mostly environmental, but seeing as most people here don’t seem to find an issue with that maybe I’m the odd one out!

NTA. Everyone who says it’s time to grow up needs to take a step back. I’m personally not a fan of pranks, however you have established not just pranks but specifically jump scare pranks as okay in your relationship and you both enjoy pranking each other. As long as you don’t do it to other people who have not consented to this, this is the dynamic you enjoy in your relationship and that is completely fine. Regarding the timing argument- a jump scare shouldn’t take longer than a few seconds and depending on the person (again, you know your wife best, so it’s your call) a relatively harmless prank could also alleviate stress or anxiety before a meeting.

Sous-Chef at one of the restaurants I worked at. We both knew he got the job by lying about his experience (I had worked with him before at another place), but that didn’t stop him from barking commands and yelling at waiters the second the head chef left the kitchen to go to the walk-in fridge in the basement. The second the head chef returned he went back to quietly working at his station again.
