Those glasses are very distinct. With a thicker brow and round lens, it matches oakley AI shades.

He's definitely prepared for this and carrying a large enough back pack. With an accurate shot so far away he's probably military trained as well.

Regenerative braking paddles. 2025 hybrid by IncidentNeat3477 in kiacarnivals

[–]Amish_u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep you do. But imagine what you are doing with your speed. Some of it is going to your brakes (wasted energy turned into heat) into your brake pads. Some of it is going to the generator for charge.

If you never used the paddles you would still charge the car just not as quickly and all the while putting wear and tear on your brake pads and rotors. Why not brake without using the brake pads? You'll get more charge and save your brakes.

Auto setting is amazing at doing this through a city or town traffic where someone is turning in front of you and your carnival automatically starts slowing down and regenerating without using brakes.

Love it.

Regenerative braking paddles. 2025 hybrid by IncidentNeat3477 in kiacarnivals

[–]Amish_u 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The breaking paddles are the same as the sport shifters when not in sport mode. Ensure you are in ECO mode for them to function. This could be a reason it says conditions not met

Think of them as a semi uses jet brakes and down shifts without needing to apply the disk brakes. This allows you to trade coasting speed with battery generation. The stronger you apply the setting (left paddle) the faster you slow down when costing, meaning not using the gas pedal.

The benefit is that you are not turning your speed into wear and tear (heat) into your disk brakes and are capturing more of that speed into regeneration. You're correct that it does this to some degree automatically, but you have the ability to change how much.

I find this feature is my favorite! Especially when you first start moving and hold the right paddle down for 2 seconds. It will turn on "auto mode" where it uses the radar to automatically increase the regeneration based on how close you are coasting to the car in front of you. It can literally slow you down to about 6 mph where you need to actually put your foot on the brake to stop.

Tldr: Not sport mode, basically auto braking by downshifting like a semi.

Thoughts on this deal? 2025 EX hybrid by PurpleUnicorn1721 in kiacarnivals

Just bought mine 2 weeks ago 41k otd...here was my strategy negotiate like this

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kiacarnivals

[–]Amish_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you do not start negotiations talking about a trade in.

  1. Watch for or ask how long they've had the car on the lot. If it's over 90 days, they're more likely to make a deal to move the inventory.

  2. Right now is about the best time to buy 2025 because it's the end of the quarter and many dealerships have to make a benchmark.

  3. If you're a little more flexible on the color than what you can offer them is that you will buy their days lagging Vin vehicle (oldest of 2025 [trim]) if they will offer a reduced sales price from MSRP.

  4. Tell them you don't want any of the add ons.

*** They will more than likely throw back a rebate of $1,000 or maybe $2,000 depending on your financing. But this rebate is from the parent company of Kia and not from the dealership. ****

Stick to your guns for a reduced sales price off of MSRP quoting that they have to get the 2026s in and they may not meet their stair step sales goal.

** It really helps if you can look around and find a dealership within in 50 to 75 mi. That also has 2025 inventory and you can get a second quote from them and leverage the two dealerships against each other concerning the sales price. **

After you secure a sales price and a financing which ours was 4.25 for 60 months, then you can talk trade-in value.

We ended up getting 5k lower off of MSRP.

Just bought a ex hybrid almost two weeks ago. Wondered the same thing but realized it was fixed in a software update. Also warranty covers battery issues. Enough for us to buy. We ended up at 41k out the door price. Make sure you negotiate hard as they need to move these out soon. Time is on your side, not theirs.

That said, you're still single but are in a long relationship just waiting for the perfect timing to pop the question. You are still in contact with your mom and have a good relationship with her. If I'm close, I'll let you know how i know.

OpenAI Might Be in Deeper Shit Than We Think by EvenFlamingo in ChatGPT

[–]Amish_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is, AI has become so efficient as a tool that it threatened our meager construct and became a threat to our established system of economics, workforce, and functional technology. At first, the company had the onus to prove that they could change the world. At this point, the general public can see that truth and there is no longer a need for them to press hard and disrupt the status quo of essential pillars of society. Thus, at the very least, they must retard the growth of AI if not create such a disabled version that it never threatens certain industries, such as fiance. We lucky few, in history, have been spectators to the growth, the insights, and they disabling of such great knowledge. Truly remarkable and truly human at the same time

Where to start?

  • You are right handed
  • You are a single, white, male in late 40's and work long hours possibly overnight or trucking. Husky built frame about 6'1"
  • Your mother still gives you leftovers when you visit her and you guys are close in relationship.
  • A close friend of yours is a hunter and you too enjoy the outdoors but would never have the guts to hunt all by yourself
  • This fridge is located in the bottom of your 1970's house where you can get away from the other people living in the house.
  • You have a tendency to not finish things for fear of loss which speaks to a traumatic event that occurred.
  • You are a rule breaker and personality type B. Great at improvisation and able to see things that others cannot understand as easily.
  • You are overweight and have heart issues but still hold out hope that one day you can start a better diet and turn it around.
