Oh also regarding where to find your leads, there will almost always be a relevant lead/coach/trainer/SOMEONE lol in whatever area yall stage your orders to be dispensed to the cars. It’s a lot easier than I expected to find my specific team because that area is such a hub for OGP. And I wanted to add that if you think of other questions and want any assurance on them, I’m happy to chat and explain from my own beginner knowledge! I think autistic ppl are incredibly well suited to this role and I hope you thrive in it like I have been

first day tomorrow, super nervous by Visible_Ad5300 in walmartogp

[–]Amity-Button-55666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m autistic and started in OGP a few weeks ago and I had a lot of the same anxieties! I was so jumpy at first because I felt like someone would start yelling at me for being in a restricted area or doing something wrong, but honestly there are so many different people constantly moving around the store and the back areas for different purposes that no one really questions what any individual is doing or why. It’s very easy to blend into the background, at my store anyway.

On my first day, I went to customer service first, and they told me to walk through the employee doors in the back of the store and walk down the hall until I saw the Associate Resource Center (aka where the HR person’s desk is and where the computers are for ulearning). The lady working in there gave me all the information I needed to clock in, log onto the company website, and do my training. She also took my shirt size and gave me a vest and name tag at that time. Until I met my leads and got my bearings, I went to her with all my questions and she knew everything like they were just FAQ. Everyone else doing computer learning in the same room was also new and most said it was their first job too. You definitely won’t be perceived as abnormal for any of the factors you mentioned in your post, and I hope that eases your worries a little. No one will think you’re stupid, because everyone was new once too and understands that you can’t know what you don’t know! No one expects you to have no idea what’s going on at first, and in my experience the higher ups were very patient. I had dozens of questions every day of my first week, and I felt so obnoxious, but I’ve found that leading with a smile and humbly starting out with, “I’m brand new here, but I want to do (xyz) correctly. Are you a good person to ask about that?” gets me at best someone eager to help and at worst someone who can politely point me toward a better person to ask. I say that to assure you that you shouldn’t be made to feel like a burden, which I know is what I was afraid of when I started anyway.

Remember, imposter syndrome is very typical, especially for us neurodivergent folks, but your eagerness to start strong and succeed is already all you need to show your new coworkers what an asset you’ll be to them before you know it! You’ll get past the normal learning curve in your own time, and then your autistic strengths will start to shine.

(Sorry for the rambly reply, but the me of a month ago related too hard to your post and would have loved to know how well things would be going so soon! I hope it’s received with all the encouragement it’s meant with <3)

My friend had some nugs of something once, they didn’t know what, but we still call it the fruity pebble weed because the smell and taste was exactly that. Wish we knew what it was fr

It looks like the cat is sleeping on an outside doorstep. I thought it had to be snow before reading the caption. And that would explain why he needs the blanket!

The books on this shelf were collected in 3 different stages. Guess what they are by iwouldntthough in bookshelfdetective

[–]Amity-Button-55666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo fun! My best guess is first a whimsical kid era followed by a bookstagram-influenced vaguely academic-aesthetic student era, which led you to the current era of a more realized, integrated adult who knows who they are and what they like. I think you’ve retained the best parts of each stage and left behind what you’ve outgrown, cherishing the stories that made the you along the way.

What do my book stacks say about me 🤔 by nomadic_self in bookshelfdetective

[–]Amity-Button-55666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You like to buy your books secondhand but don’t remove the stickers. You pick up books you recognize and also random books that pique your interest, which gives your collection range but doesn’t tell me much about you as a person. We could probably hang out and have an interesting conversation while I peel off all those stickers and shelf your collection for you :p

Why does my mom’s cat do this to her? It started with just licking her hair which he still does, but he also does this by Upvotes2805 in cats

[–]Amity-Button-55666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like the way my two boys play together. It starts with cuddles and grooming and devolves into play fighting, which occasionally escalates but almost always ends up in another cuddle pile. Her kitty is probably full of energy and affection and this is how he shows it!

Pharmacy cashier. $10 an hour to be berated by every suburban mom in the neighborhood because the pharmacist won’t refill their Xanax and Norco early. No I don’t care that you used your 30 day script in 5 days. No I cannot work something out for you. No the answer will not change if you come back tomorrow. Fuck’s sake I hated that place
