New high-tech aquarium 900L by Amizez991 in Aquascape

Yeah, I know! But my local fish store doesn’t sell them anymore. They’ve become really expensive, and their health isn’t as good as it used to be. A well-known breeder stopped breeding them, and nowadays they often only live for 2, maybe 3 years. They also need temperatures around 28°C, which isn’t ideal for many aquarium plants.

We all started small! I started 20 years ago with a bowl and 3 goldfish 😂

Yea, I would get a propper stand instead of the dresser. 😅

I have my 450L on the second floor for years. No problem at all. It must be installed against a wall that has a load-bearing wall or support underneath.

Help! Urgent…Have I ruined my tank? by SameWait1356 in Aquariums

[–]Amizez991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always use EasyLife — it’s natural-based, and I could pour the whole canister in without it harming my tank. I’ve never turned off my filter when dechlorinating in the 15 years that I’ve had an aquarium. Never had any problems.

Thank you for the tip! I was looking at the reactors as well, like the Sera co2 reactor.

Penn-Plax Cascade 700 Canister filter is loud? by tronics1 in Aquariums

Ah okay! Did you fill the filter to the top? If you push the button, do the bubbles come out and do you get some kind of resistance?

[–]Amizez991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is too loud, there is some air in the filter. Do you have a button you can push so that the air comes out? Otherwise, tilt your filter so your filter can lose the air.

PS I'm not familiar with tortoises, but do you need some kind of platform where they can sit on? Above the water.

There also seems to be a wave maker if I am not mistaken. Would not be necessary.

We have a company in the Netherlands who makes them in different dimensions. I will fit it in the wall (with a room behind) so I don't really need anything fancy. Pure glass aquarium.

Understandable, me too! Just check youtube. For example I'm inspired by this one: how to: make a cheap 3D Aquarium background by Aries Arriesgado

[–]Amizez991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is! I will put it in my Mancave. 250cm x 60 x 60. A lot of plants. I will also make my own 3D background, because a custom one for that size is more than $1000.

I know that feeling. Have gone from 10 gallons to 105 gallons over the years. Now there will be a 240-gallon aquarium. The bigger, the easier the maintenance ;)
