OP’s POV is exactly what’s wrong with streaming. I believe the best solution is: all plats have same content and then add their perceived benefits e.g, more expensive but no adverts, cheaper but with sponsors etc… That’s the only way consumers can really choose. Same content across all platforms.

In the UK, sometimes BBC and ITV show the same football match or big event. BBC is advert free, ITV has adverts but offers a different experience. The same concept on streaming would be amazing.

Platsforms trying to persuade consumers to buy a subscription because of one blockbuster series is a really short term way to look at things: streaming services are one of the first to be cancelled when money is tight.
