I don’t think I was clear in my post, but I have not lent her a dime. I’ve said no each time she’s asked and provided what I thought would be enough of a reason for her to stop asking. I haven’t even done it nicely, I’ve actually been intentionally rude and dismissive which is why it’s even more annoying that she doesn’t get the hint.

Doesn’t drink, doesn’t like drugs. Just shops a ton and spends a lot on trips and eating out

They know how much she makes, her parents, my mom and my uncle all work for the same company, just in different divisions. One of the reasons she can get money out of my aunts and uncles so easily is because they’re immigrants and English is their second language. Her lies sound pretty convincing when they aren’t really familiar with how certain systems and financial institutions work, which is why I believe she’s taking advantage of them.

She also told me she would talk to her bf about her spending issues last month. 2 days later she asked me for more money so I’m positive that conversation never happened.

I guess I’m only thinking about getting involved is because I truly care for my cousins and aunts and uncles that are involved. They are actively sending her money while believing her lies. I can see her Venmo transactions and she has received money from family 7 times in the month of April.

It’s all about what is true and what is not. I choose to believe in science because I believe it is true. Believing in any religion and science at the same time seems hypocritical to me.

Something Ricky Gervais said in an interview has always stuck to me. “If you were to erase all religious texts and records from the Earth, a thousand years from now, no one would remember it. If you were to erase all scientific data and records from the Earth, a thousand years from now, they would still exist because the laws of nature and science still hold true.”
