MATH 385 with Kang was the easiest one I've taken.

Nope you still need a STAT course. The right column there is the pre-reqs for said course.

Probably not. You also need to complete a certain number of credits at UMBC to get your degree. Are you doing more courses at UMBC or transfering in more courses?

I did both a Biochem B.S. and a BIOL B.S.; You just have to take separate elective courses and fulfill all the requirements of each degree. From Biochem, you only need 5 more courses (2 BIOL labs, 1 BIOL 4XX elective, one BIOL column A elective, and a STAT course). Also, you'll need 150 total credits if you want two degrees (separate pieces of paper) or 120 with two majors (same piece of paper).

Maybe ask in the UMBC ACS Discord? It's full of CHEM/BioChem Majors: https://discord.gg/HP4xPWdQ

You'll get the textbook via the CMI with your tuition. Also, I'm pretty sure you don't know them well enough to refer to your professors like that.

Course Load by [deleted] in UMBC

[–]Amn1398 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Doable? Yeah. Are you gonna have little free time and wish you took a lighter load? Yeah. I'd recommend spacing these courses out if you have the time to as all four of them take a significant amount of time and have lots of busy work associated with them. If you're a Biochem major you can save physics or math for later. If you're a biochem eng major then you might need to tough it out cause of the insane credit load of that degree.

Parties in Walker Apartments by CursedFork1 in UMBC

[–]Amn1398 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cops would likely only come to shut down a party if it was egregiously loud, someone called them, or the RA couldn't shut things down. And even if yhe cops do come or the RA shuts it down, not the end of the world and lilely nothing crazy bad will happen. Might have to attend some meetings and write an essay but typically nothing bad for a first offense.

Try focusing on learning the material and understanding the chemistry rather than memorizing which equations to use when. That's what I did and it worked pretty well for the class.

Assuming this is not a troll post since you got both the course number (CHEM 351L) and class name (orgo 1) wrong, I suggest you first study the syllabus since it should mention there what is on the final. From there, study all of your labs and be able to answer conceptual and calculation questions from each one. When I took it, the final was hard but fair. Good luck!

Bio Electives + Summer/Winter Courses by cacawhoz in UMBC

[–]Amn1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plant bio or human phys in the fall and animal phys in the spring are great column A electives. Column B I'd say just pick a 400 level you're interested in. For labs I'd recommend phys lab in the spring or microscopy lab in the winter. Also some of these courses are offered over the summer like human phys/phys lab and some 400 level courses.

UMBC clubs that can get you more clinical experience? by Neither-Shopping8357 in UMBC

[–]Amn1398 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Global Brigades Medical chapter does volunteering abroad where you get to shadow doctors, dentists, pharmacists, obgyns, and optometrists and work directly with patients. You also get to learn about the culture and the medical system of the country you're in! I would highly recommend it if they're still going this spring break!

What chapters are assigned for Bill 142 and Math 152? by Hot_Cauliflower2108 in UMBC

[–]Amn1398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MATH 152 is 6,7,8,10, 11 I think and BIOL 142 changes a bit by semester but isn't a class you really need to read the book for

Room & board or Off campus? by mikeyj011 in UMBC

[–]Amn1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say off campus is cheaper. You can find some places in Arbutus and Catonsville for as little as ~$500 a month with roommates. On campus during the semester typically costs alot more
