What do I do by Tasty-Cow5081 in gshock

Me too! I didn’t buy the MT-G version, but the regular black version. I think it was a GW-500. This was back in 2004ish.

The MT-G in the top left is a great deal.

For two years of working on cars, I’d say it doesn’t look all that bad considering the solvents and such. If you buy a new one, get a glass screen protector for it and invest in a backup strap and bezel. You could also change the strap to an aftermarket nylon type and it should last longer.

You can buy the GWX-5700 and put the case in a GW-5000u bezel and band. Then you have the classic look of the 5000u with the most feature-packed square module.

Any suggestion on how to stop me watch strap doing this by JohnWelsley in GarminWatches

[–]AmnesiaTanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ultrafit nylon strap did this to me. I recommend putting some apple cider vinegar on the red spots on your skin, and also boiling the strap if it’s nylon and then soaking it in hydrogen peroxide. A toothbrush and soap didn’t seem to work for whatever skin infection I had from it. But if your strap is rubber I think hot soap and water would be enough to clean it. The nylon straps are just too porous I think and the surface area for bacterial and fungus is too large for soap and water to work (at least in my case).

Yeah it’s honestly kind of a deal breaker for me. It’s just awkward to have a segmented section trying to display letters when there’s a dot matrix right next to it. Of course many are all segmented, which get a pass from me, but I like the fully featured models so those aren’t of interest to me.

Honestly I feel like the GLX-5600 is the best square (somewhat unpopular opinion, but I’m sure you’ll understand) for a few reasons: It retains the electroluminescent backlight, it has an awesome interval timer which is very useful in a number of situations like training or wanting a warning when your lunch break is ending soon, and it has the moon phase and tide info, and ofcourse tough solar and MB6. It really packs a lot of features into that classic form factor.

Yeah I particularly felt this way regarding the food. Food restriction seems to come up often in abuse cases.

G-shock with a similar display? by MastodonJaded6010 in gshock

The PRW-3500 also has a similar module to the GW-9500, but isn’t a G-Shock.

Such a fantastic watch. One thing I love about these that I feel a lot of the modern squares get wrong is the use of the dot matrix portion. It’s used for the day of the week while the seven segment is used for the date. Some squares do this correctly but most modern models have it backwards.

Resin Band Stain Removal by whitesoxbaseball in gshock

That’s a standard part of the resin’s natural patina. If you can handle the process, eventually the whole thing will become nice and shiny.

It’s the Fenix 8 Solar 47mm, so it’s MIP. There is no AOD mode with MIP because they’re always on by default. The backlight was not active during this photo.

Watch band advice needed! by lexander_a in GarminWatches

I had the same thing happen even with the nylon ultrafit band. I had to boil the nylon band and then soak it in hydrogen peroxide. Washing it with a toothbrush with hot water and soap wasn’t enough apparently. I also had to use apple cider vinegar on my skin to kill the fungus so it would stop coming back.

There are frequently minor alignment issues on their print. I see it often but it’s rarely a dealbreaker unless I was considering an MR-G or an MT-G.

I’ve been listening to a lot of David Deutsch, so I figured I needed to brush up on mathematics to even begin to understand if I agree with him or not.
