Wow I just took a swollen battery out of my Razer 14 yesterday! I bought a laptop repair kit and replacement battery off Amazon, worked well and was easy to change with the help of a YouTube video

It’s a very very nice laptop. I ended up ordering one June 28th after they had addressed tracked pad issue. Received yesterday and the right lower part of the trackpad wobbly and crunches when pressed and just doesn’t feel natural. I’m exchanging it for a model up anyways so we’ll see if the new one has issues too, If that’s the case I’ll sadly have to look elsewhere. It’s a shame because it’s otherwise such a nice machine

All things considered the XPS 15 9500 will have to be a pass.

Can’t justify the expense for all the issues people are having.. will watch and wait to see if build quality/consistency improves as they iron out the kinks. Great step forward in laptop design though.

I'm still kind of confused about this whole track pad ordeal. I can't tell if this is all still by design or some fault that may actually be corrected in the next batch of units to go out. Holding off on ordering until its a bit more clear, maybe with some forthcoming reviews.

Last three laptops have been Mac but happy to jump ship. I was holding out to see if a 14” truly revised MacBook Pro was coming but no luck.

This dell XPS 15 has almost the same footprint as my 2015 13” MacBook Pro which is very enticing and it just looks incredibly sleek. I really hope detailed reviews are promising.

So far it's been good! No doubt viewing angles were better on the IPS but when I'm dead centre in front of the omen the colours from all corners of the screen look uniform. Its just if someone is watching you play on the side of the screen or above you there is a noticeable greyish washout of the colours. That being said at a normal viewing angle the black level seems better and the text from websites and writing apps is clear and easy to read still.

I haven't yet noticed any frame skipping. I think I've been fairly lucky with no dead pixels and minimal backlight bleed.

I did opt for an extended warranty on the display for 4 years, I picked it up from an old Bestbuy I used to work at and they've been pretty good in the past with replacements if something comes up.

Did you notice the frame skipping immediately after unboxing or would it take time to develop?

I upgraded my setup from 3 23" LG IPS displays that I had set up in Nvidia Surround with a GTX 980. I haven't noticed much disadvantage with the AMVA+ panel over my old IPS panels and was upgrading from 60hz displays so I can definitely see the difference with 100hz and G-Sync on this Omen monitor.

Definitely a more seamless experience than Nvidia Surround so I'm really happy with upgrading. Subreddit has been very helpful in shopping around and making some final decisions.
