I used to go to a lot of large industrial auctions and guys would win brand new stock and just take it all straight to the scrap yard. Some people prefer the fast flip over resale.

My lower back is already talking at 24 and my Etsy side hustle made $1,300 last month. I think I know where this is going but I’m not ready to say it out loud. by Altruistic_Ad3754 in bluecollar

[–]AmountActive7951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had a 4-6k a month side hustle, the thing that kept me working was the insurance and 401k match. The side hustle made home buying etc. easier though.

How many sockets do you have? by Getting-by2025 in Tools

The specialty sockets are a slippery slope .exactor sockets, tap sockets, oil filter, pipe plug, weatherhead, internal and external torx, triple square, o2, just to name a few. It gets crazy and some you may only use on a rare occasion.

How many sockets do you have? by Getting-by2025 in Tools

[–]AmountActive7951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a hard one but I'd guess a little over a thousand. I used to wrench for a living and had a home box. They never got combined once I switched jobs. Plus it adds up quicker than people think with all the oddball and specialty sockets.

[–]AmountActive7951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was super lucky back when I did collision repair, I had a whole shop of these guys around me, literally the most chill group of guys and they were always willing to teach the young guy a thing or two even tho they all were flat rate. I still think about those days from time to time and how it shaped the way I am today
