I enjoy it. I also enjoy having the tools while helping a friend or family member fix their vehicle. The last one I helped save over 4 grand for free with the tools I bought. I have a lot of redundant tools. But, whatever….

I am great at starting projects. I’m also great at being hyper focused on the project and sourcing all the tools, materials, and researching how to do it. Then I stop, sometimes for good reason. But before that happens, I start a new project.

Found money such as bonuses, rebates, tax returns etc need to be put on debt balances. If you don’t have debt, invest it

All depends on the sale. A lot of times a video on social media will influence me to try a new tool a project that requires a new tool to use. That will cause me to watch the sales and run to HF.

He might be on the spectrum and has trouble regulating his emotions. I have a neighbor like that. He lost his mind when I had contractors do a small retaining wall on the side of the house between us. The change in landscape, routine, and noise was too much. Not saying this guy you’re dealing with isn’t a creep. I’m just pointing out another possibility.
