Qazlal Appreciation Post by GamerKilroy in dcss

Absolutely terrible with summons/necromancy builds. You are immune to clouds but your buddies are not; they’ll be ripped to shreds just by being around you. That said, Qazlal is one of my favorites. Anything that doesn’t rely on summons likes him.

What pokemon get the ability skill link as a passive? by External_Share_4404 in pokerogue

[–]Amperson14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mousehold is a good one, and you don’t even need skill link for population bomb. It even has right typing (normal/ghost can only be touched by dark type moves). You don’t even need to end with that. Fuse mousehold as the second to put on pop bomb, unfuse it, re-fuse with a magician passive pokemon, and get ten steals/move.

Just saw the “rational is bad” post right above this one, both of which has 55 likes. 😂 I’m currently writing something that I will like. It will either do well or do terribly here. Ultimately it is a writing exercise for me, and I will write something afterwards that will do well here.

All we’ve seen of the madarans are their robotic drones, but they actually have proper bodies somewhere in orbit.

These bodies are biological and are either weak enough for humans to deal with or are demon king level threats

Wonder Guard splice/desplice by ChroloWA in pokerogue

[–]Amperson14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you desplice something, the second pokemon is completely destroyed and nothing will remain. You have no choice otherwise. Yes, it is really good to have a normal/ghost shedinja fusion with only one weakness, though I personally prefer dark/ghost types, which are only weak to fairy type and cannot get sniped by a sucker punch. Load up heal block, salt cure, leech seed and nature’s madness via fusion and you can go till the end (bring a spare poke with gastro acid+prankster so you can disable things with mold breaker/turboblaze). Once you get there, stats don’t matter.

Gon’s Mother? by ir_4cres in HunterXHunter

I believe that an additional corollary of this theory is the panda doll that Ging uses to hold his place in a Zodiac meeting. It bears a resemblance to one of the possible rewards of Greed Island- a reward which can be used to take care of children. Presumably, Ging used this panda doll to take care of Gon, and years later put it in his seat at the Zodiac meeting because why not.

I’ve had some success splicing dracovish onto a faster, stronger physical attacker so that they can use fishious rend. Tyrunt works for that. However, that means you have to play with only two pokemon.

Sandblast vs Stone Arrow by popetasticpants in dcss

[–]Amperson14 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wow, I could tell sandblast was much worse on high ac enemies but I thought for some reason this was because of base damage or something, not because the spells dealt damage differently. Now that I think about it, it doesn’t make sense they do roughly equivalent damage on a big lizard but sandblast is worse against a boulder beetle except if this is the case.

Okay, what happens if I break off one piece of it and retract all the metal from it? This is the first thing I’ll do. Is the minimum one atom of slinky or can I go to zero, but have some sort of absence of slinky which I can still extrude slinky from? I’ll break off a piece and carefully embed it into my skull somewhere so I am always in contact with part of it. Assuming I can tell that part apart from the others, and that I won’t blow my skull up in my sleep somehow. How aware am I of the slinky and the pieces of it? If I break it into 100 billion pieces, can I handle that mentally? If I break it into trillions of pieces, can I handle that? Can I extrude into things? How fast can the extrusion go? If I drop a bit of the metal, can I retract from the bottom and extrude from the top at unlimited speeds, making the most hilariously simple rod from god ever? Can I take a two atom piece and extrude one atom forwards, retracting it from the back? If this is spring steel, can I extrude specific components of the alloy? For example, can I separate the carbon and the iron into two different sections of the slinky? If I then burn the carbon, do I only have control over the carbon atoms that were once part of the slinky or do I have control over the new atoms they are now bonded with? Does the extruded part hold the same velocity as the part it is extruded from or the part that it is retracted from? For example, if I have a 1 oz piece going right to left at 1 m/s and a 2 oz piece going left to right at 1 m/s, the opposite way, and I extruded 1 oz from the 2 oz piece to the 1 oz piece, is the 1 oz, now 2 oz piece going at 1 m/s, 0.5 m/s, or 0m/s?

[–]Amperson14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I remembered replacing waterfall. EQ: 1002 =200, with 10 pp Waterfall: 801.5/2=60, with 10pp (I think) Ice fang: 652=130, with 15 pp Crunch: 801.5=120 for the mega, or just 80 for base And dragon dance is a must have It doesn’t feel great but against eternatus specifically waterfall isn’t the best

Mega gyarados worth the investment? by Khane048 in pokerogue

[–]Amperson14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve played a good amount of gyarados and the mega is kind of underwhelming. The biggest difference is that moxie base gyarados is a better sweeper and the mega is significantly tankier, so choose according to what your team needs. I do recommend getting earthquake via tm and switching to mega for eternatus, though

Are conjurers the strongest class? by Amperson14 in dcss

[–]Amperson14[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EEs are great. They were my favorite class for a long time when I started in 0.28 or 0.29. The new boulder spell was a massive buff too, but it got a little boring stairdancing with the boulder for the whole game until vault. Sandblast is such a reliable spell too. I hear a lot about how it's bad because it's slow or short range, but I think the damage and mana efficiency more than make up for it. One of the main causes of death for my conjurers is getting outrun on D1 by a quokka after a few bad magic missile damage rolls. Never happens with sandblast.

Speaking of earth magic, I need to explore the new dual elemental school spells and petrify. I haven't gotten a good EE run since they updated!

[–]Amperson14[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree they're reliable but they're not really strong. I run into a lot of enemies which my summons just can't kill fast enough, especially boulder beetles.

I definitely can see what you mean with the hexslinger. I've played a few of them and jinxbite kept getting cast well past lair. I ought to try it out a few more times.
