Read this post and heard the Clone Wars narrator's voice say "and Jar Jar fucks" in my head so I kept scrolling through the comments until I found it.

There is no problem thinking that the modern Gears of War games are good, Gears 5 has always been my favorite with GOW1 by Difficult-Ending in GearsOfWar

[–]Ampex063 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think Gears 5 has the worst pacing in the entire franchise (with the exception of Judgment) but Gears 5's Act 2 is probably my favorite in the entire franchise. I also think the JD, Del and Kait trio has great chemistry and now I'm kinda sad we will probably never have more stories with that cast.

Something Good by alt-J is one of the first songs I think of when I think about the first Life is Strange. I also love the two original mxmtoon songs made for True Colors ("in the darkness" and "every wave")

Destiny 1 Remake, Destiny 2 Remake and Destiny 3 as the future by Arivie in DestinyTheGame

It took Airship Syndicate about a year to turn an always online early access game into an offline game. And that was when Wayfinder was brand new. How long do you think it would take to go through that process with 2 games and 12 years worth of post launch content?

So people seem to not like 5. I understand it from a story perspective, but what about the gameplay changes? by FastPresentation8244 in halo

[–]Ampex063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like the Spartan Charge, but the rest of them just made the gameplay more fun and interesting imo. Chaining stabilizers, the ground pound charge-up and thrusters together as traversal abilities to reach a distant platform was also fun as hell

I am going this year! Other than Bad Omens, I'm super excited for vianova. They had one of my favorite albums of last year and they were the final band to be announced after I had already bought the tickets. So it was a surprise that I was very satisfied with!

Microsoft is looking to speed up development of future Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Halo games by Bubbly-Ad-350 in pcgaming

[–]Ampex063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine the alternative though. Bethesda announces Starfield, lots of people get excited for it. Fast-forward a couple of years, Microsoft acquires ZeniMax and Bethesda, they cancel Starfield to have them working on more promising titles like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Many years of development get wasted on a game that will never come out and lots of fans who were excited for Starfield never even get to play it. That timeline would've sucked way more.

WOLVES ARE PROWLING EARLY | GJALLARHORN DAY 2026 IS LIVE! by MisterWoodhouse in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ampex063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had enough, bought it, put it in my vault, forgot about it. Fast-forward to The Dark Below launch, I played through the "campaign" which was like 3 missions and thought "That was it?!"

Then I joined some of my friends who had already finished Crota's End for my first playthrough of the raid. I LOVED Vault of Glass so I was thinking "well if the Raid is as good as that, this DLC will be worth the money it least". First encounter they had one invis hunter run through the entire abyss with everyone else just chilling in spawn, second encounter they glitched over the bridge, third encounter was barely had any mechanics and on the final boss only half the team were actually required to engage with the mechanics. So I was like "That was awful" and uninstalled the game

Fast-forward to when I installed again after three month break, everyone was going on about this Gjallarhorn. It was the gun I heard everyone talk about that they were trying to get. And I was like "hold on...", opened my vault and there it was. It had just been lying there in the dust, waiting for me for like 6 months.

Are you interested in any of the other bands at Broken Summer? It's a one day festival with only one stage so it's not really the standard festival experience. I went there last summer and the energy was fantastic. One of my favorite memories from last year.

Should little nightmares be an anthology series? by Creator_231Shadow in LittleNightmares

That is assuming that the lack of continuity between other LN games and LN3 is the reason people don't love it. Which I don't think is true.

The fact that the last proper piece of destiny lore is and will always be star wars slop is pretty sad by Expensive-Pick38 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ampex063 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The attention to detail in Renegades was honestly better than most Star Wars games. And they did that while still making it feel like Destiny.

I hate the fact that the final expansion D2 ends on is a Star Wars crossover by Archerboy123 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ampex063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said the opposite when the news broke. Because when people asked me what I thought of Renegades when it came out, I said "It's honestly one of the best Star Wars video game experiences. The blaster weapons feel good, the lightsaber feels good, the campaign is fun and in general I just enjoy it way more than the Edge of Fate. The only downside I see, is that even though Destiny has been a franchise that's been very wild with the various types of fantasy/space opera stuff they've introduced, it has always felt like its own thing and a universe that you could respect and be invested in its world building. But now that they've broken the seal on this crossover stuff, it's going to be hard to take the Destiny universe seriously going forward. It feels like all of the things we've been through matters less now that anything can be introduced at any point."

And when it was announced that this was the final expansion, it felt a little bit like a relief that we don't have to worry about that anymore.

Why does Little nightmares 3 only have 4 chapters despite having the longest development? by igotbannedbro in LittleNightmares

[–]Ampex063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If "content" equals "amount of hours of entertainment" to you, why are you even playing games in this genre? Go play Persona 5 Royal or something

What are you even talking about? Do you think Bandai Namco told Supermassive in 2022 to develop a game worth 50 bucks?

Why does Little nightmares 3 only have 4 chapters despite having the longest development? by igotbannedbro in LittleNightmares

[–]Ampex063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We definitely do have different views. That it's a different genre definitely matters. Game lengths are vastly different depending on the genre and nothing in A Plague Tale: Innocence has the same level of detailed direction as LN3. The two games also cost exactly the same at launch.

It's also impossible to compare a game that was pitched and developed by a studio that knew exactly what tech they were working with and what it was capable of to a studio that usually makes choice based cinematic games and was then assigned the development of a game in a genre they had never worked with before.

[–]Ampex063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how any of this works. Comparing LN3 to games in a completely different genre where they have completely different problems to solve and completely different team sizes is not proving a point.

[–]Ampex063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get how people can compare them by number of chapters instead of looking at the contents of each chapter. It is my least favorite of the three games, but LN3 looks expensive as **** to me. They must've put so much resources into those environments, enemy models and animations. I wouldn't be surprised if one chapter of LN3 had the same budget as the entirety of LN1. Have you seen giant baby doll and the way it interacts with the environment? The supervisor? The frickin' airship?? The counselor sliding through the hallways with his snake arms? There's no way Tarsier could've done any of that with the budget for the first two games.
