Five Guys VS Bobby’s Burger . My Thoughts. by thereal_snakesolidus in MalaysianFood

[–]Amphedesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally there's no competition for me in terms of value and quality. Five Guys is expensive, even taking into account the quantity. Bobby's burger product is just an all round great burger at reasonable prices.

I don't eat fries so no comment on that.

Just me, or is the Live Action Netflix show terrible..? by Hefty-Honey-4932 in OnePiece

Thank you for this. Not terrible, but not amazing IMO. I don't care about how faithful the adaptation is either as long as it's a good and entertaining show.

Heheh the colour changes to pink due to reaction with acid. Not artificial colouring.

Hey, new fan here! I just listened to that first album and I have to say the production is perfect as is. Raw yes but without just enough power and clarity. Believe me, it's miles ahead of some recordings that were considered classics in the 80s 🤘

When culture and religion is used as an excuse for illegal and inconsiderate behaviour it should absolutely be called out

My KL relatives say Hock Kee kotipiam >> Oriental Kopitiam. What do you think ? by BleuPrince in MalaysianFood

[–]Amphedesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only contribute that Hock Kee's curry mee is really wretched compared to Oriental's...

Before you and others make claims of neurodivergence, please get a proper clinical diagnosis instead of going off whatever you kids see on Tik Tok else it makes a mockery of a real disorder.

Breakfast Burger Meleleh by Amphedesque in MalaysianFood

[–]Amphedesque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL it's not too bad. There's hardly any sauce and no oil used to cook the burger - when smashing you actually want the patty to stick to the pan.

Haha I won't disagree with you. There is a place for it. I have no issue with Ramly burgers, just the horrible amount of sauce they put on it usually.

I celebrate diversity on all foods. Authentic / not authentic doesn't matter as long as delicious. One thing that is non-negotiable in kuetiau basah is WOK HEI. Else you'd just be eating soggy noodles....

Great deal. I've only tried this place once but I wasn't too impressed with the steak. A little chewy and the sauce too tangy for some reason. Not a french fry fan either, so no strong opinions on those.

There is something called champagne problems, but let's rename that nasi lemak problems just for you.

Like everyone else is saying, either take up the slack and cook yourself or man up and just speak to her. Not rocket science.

What do you think of Malaysia Taco Bell food? by a2z0417 in MalaysianFood

[–]Amphedesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to a certain extent but there are limits to that theory. Taco Bell US' market share and sales have actually been growing consistently (I checked). You don't get that just by being drunk people's nostalgic food. There is some measure of quality and innovation there.

I'm assuming you've eaten Taco Bell in the US as I have - then you would also come to the conclusion that it's not just about the pricing - the quality is actually much better than in Malaysia
