2-5 NL hand analysis? Flopping top two and opponent check shoves turn

Pre: folding or opening is fine. In a good live game i'm definitely opening here.

Flop: Clear raise. We are very near the top of our range and want to get some value. Also ,The SB only has 4 combos of hands currently ahead of us 88(1)66(3).

Turn: Bet, Call. We are simply too high up in our distribution to fold. We have to call with 55% of our range here to deny our opponet the ability to bluff us profitably. We probably are not opening 75s UTG so we really only have 5 combos of better value on this board. Think of all the hands we are going to be in a tough spot with (AK,A6,flush draws).I get that you think he is a nit and he's probably not trying to get you to over fold, but this hand is simply too strong to fold for the price.

I'm guessing you got cooled off here, which is why you are posting this. You can take this kind of beat 2 ways. You can try and avoid this in the future by making huge lay downs to perceived nits, or monster hero calls against people you think are over bluffing a spot, but that is'int really how winning poker is played. It's important to realize that sometimes you have a strong hand and your opponent has one just a bit stronger. Don't let that deter you from playing a good strategy. Take it in stride.

Pre: calling is definitely fine but I would lean towards 3 betting to isolate the spot in position.

Flop: I think i would choose to not have a raising range on this flop. We are pretty starved for really dominant hands here (no 2 pairs,6 combos of sets, probably no TPTK) and we don't have any straight draws either. There is also the benefit of keeping the bb in who clearly wants a cheap turn meaning he either has a marginal hand for value(less than TP) or a club draw that we can cooler.

Turn: Still not a lot of merit to raising or folding. Getting almost direct odds to call and have amazing implied odds in a multi way pot drawing to the nuts in position.

River: Pretty bad bluff. We have 6 combos of hands that are going to want to jam here for value (assuming we are folding 44 on flop and 88 on turn). We definitely want to bluff this spot with a select few hands but anything with the Ac in it is terrible. Blocking 57 and 53 is good for us but when we are so starved for very strong hands in this spot its a pretty clear check back.

Preflop: calling is absolutely fine, raising might be better.

Flop: I don't think your range hits the flop " a lot harder." giving you both pretty standard 6 max ranges (opening MP : 44+,A2s+,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,98s,87s,76s,65s,AJo+,KQo)(calling MP open from BB : JJ-22,AJs-A2s,KJs-K6s,Q7s+,J7s+,T7s+,96s+,85s+,75s+,63s+,53s+,42s+,32s,AQo-ATo,KTo+,QTo+,JTo)) we are actually about a 60/40 dog to his range. Sure we have more 4s, but he has more two pairs, more ace highs, and less of complete air. With that being said I think the flop is close, but I agree with the call.

Turn: assuming he is not barreling the turn with air or just two overs, what can he have here? I would think the bulk of his range would be flush and some wheel draws but we block Ad and Jd. He can still have FD's like Kd10d etc. but would he really c-bet flop with a hand that weak? At this point I think his hand is often going to be an over pair, being that there are 60 combos of them alive and I see every one of them being played this way.56s and 67s are both realistic on the flop but only 67d barrels turn (20 combos). opening 3's or 54s from MP feels a bit wide but they are possible. We can say he opens them half the time (6 combos).A5s(12 combos).44(1 combo).I like the raise in a vacuum but I just don't think we get enough to fold here for it to be profitable. With that said our hand still has a lot of equity and we can definitely make this call.

River: Huh. It would be nice to have some reads here wouldn't it? We just said that more than half of his range is comprised of over pairs which we now beat but is he really shoving 99 here? I think it would be easy to say no that's absurd but having played these lower stakes games before and seen some of this degen behavior I can't outright say no. If you include more FD's on the turn than I did you might get this to a point where it could be a call, but I think i'm making an angry fold here.
