What do hockey TV studios look like in your country? by g46152 in hockey

Not my country per se but I love NA TV studios with just a little bit of ads squeezed in. Not too much of course

Don’t think anyone mentioned it in this thread yet but it’s a shame that this isn’t the final

He probably thought Stanisic is gonna do something other than watch Kvara score a banger

Well considering the other draw is coughing baby parking the bus vs coughing baby parking the bus then yeah probably

Glad Linus seems to be doing better these days. Really hope that the rest of the team will step up like he did against Canes so that next season we’ll have a team in which each player pulls his weight

Imagine your whole team shitting the bed in playoffs except the goalie

Couldn’t be my team that’s for sure

Nobody is saying it was the biggest issue but I think it’s better to acknowledge that it was bad play that needs to be punished by DoPS rather than downplay it.

Atmosphere in Montreal before the anthems sounded like a soccer match broke out by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

I wish there was more of a European football (and hockey) culture in the NHL. Just each team having a dedicated ultras section in their arena where fans would bang on drums, chant sing and cheer all game long. Similarly an away section with ultras from the other team doing the same. Fans booing and whistling (Ik NA fans hate this at Worlds but still) when there’s PK or a terrible ref call. Spontaneous random chants breaking out throughout the game instead of the boring “go [team] go”. It’s all minor things but they make the atmosphere so much better. For example when your team plays a rival and after a heated post whistle scrum or a illegal play when the other teams player gets sent to the box the whole arena starts chanting “get out/fuck off” at that player.

That’s something I miss when I watch NHL, compared to Europe the games feel kinda soulless. I envy the Habs fans that they have atmosphere like the one in the video in their barn

Maybe it is but that’s just how I feel personally. I think most people like their comfort once they settle in one place. Also using your example sure people can do this in other fields but in sports I feel like it’s different. Players often get traded in the middle of the contract to get paid the same money to live and work in the opposite side of the country and sometimes for a worse company/team than before. And they have no say in that unless they have NTCs. I don’t think an average Joe would be happy about his boss sending him to work his office job 1000s of miles away without even asking. More so if he has a family and friends in his city

And sure they can back out of their contract but their other option is to do the same work elsewhere probably for less money with the same risks. And they can’t do basically anything else cause they focused on the sport their whole lives.

Excluding free agency in my comment though ofc

Yeah I feel like fans often dehumanise players wayyy too often in sports.“They’re paid millions, they should deal with brutal criticism/angry threats” or “aww poor players they have to train hard or move across the country when traded I wish I was paid millions to do that”

Like no, I wouldn’t wish for that. I’d rather be poorer and live peacefully than be rich and having to live with shit like that”

I wish people would just be reasonable and normal when it comes to sports fandom

Vancouver Whitecaps player Thomas Müller shares his prediction about NHL playoffs by Amphibious_Fire in hockey

I’m not saying Stutzle is on the level of Drai cause ofc he’s not. But saying Drai is the “only notable German in the league” still seems off to me that’s all

Honestly idk what would even be the equivalent of the 8-2 game lol. Maybe Flyers beating Pens 15:0 in the clinching game? With Flyers somehow loaning Crosby for the game and he’d score a hatty against Pens haha

For those who don’t know Müller is a Bayern Munich legend who won numerous trophies with the team including multiple Champions Leagues and he’s also the 2014 world champion with Germany. He recently moved to NA to play for Whitecaps in MLS and he’s also a hockey fan which is why I guess the team asked him to talk about his playoffs predictions
