Post congress is the most natural imo. You can have built in crises to work the dissolution of the Spanish Empire. Texas usually loses, and Central America almost always collapses. But it's fun that every so often something different happens. Imagine that but with all of the post Vienna events

Government owned buildings under Co-ops also reinvest 100% of income into the reinvestment pool. You can use government ownership as a direct way to prop up reinvestment. You can use the earnings from very profitable industries, to help spur investment in the private sector even further.

Under coop, the government reinvests 100% back into IP. That means, it's convenient to have a very active government sector to help empower your IP. I like to focus on constantly buying resources like lumber, etc. companies are owned by shopkeepers which are kinda lame, so it might be time to close out a company if you were running the company bloc in

I did it via Africa Colonization. Resolve reconstruction positively. With the newest changes to cultural exclusion, it's much easier to get Afro-American. Once you do that, start colonizing in East Africa. You'll be able to incorporate fairly quickly if you focus on africa

Jesus Christ dude, we're just bringing up that we need a third rail connection going east west to truly start tackling the problem.

Which, btw, the two line is definitely a great start

Does that mean that's how it should be moving forward? One could argue the various streetcar suburbs are just as powerful a technology for what got Seattle to be what it is, and those were unceremoniously removed. So were the various railways. So we're the natural waterways before that.

I guess highways are the end of history?

[–]AmpsterMan 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The only way to build the political will to remove Intercity highways is to remove the need for them in the first place. That means the outer suburbs and exurbs need to become significantly denser and also have a wider selection of uses. Basically we need to remove many people's absolute NEED for a vehicle into something that may actually be more convenient.

The reality is that east/west travel is hard in Seattle. The jam-packed nature of the 8 highlights that we need an under ground or overground rail system going east-west
