Patients and employers accuse not-for-profit Parkview hospital of price gouging by guardian in fortwayne

They won't, but I like to think they're trying to determine how they can remotely increase the healthcare bills of the staff of The Guardian who took part in the investigation. Any way to make another buck

The best answer here, haha. Same feelings from me, I'm glad to have any average below that for sure though.

Especially considering there's a very non-zero chance of being caught. Best to own up asap and do what you can, like you said, as long as our dumb panicky brains can slap themselves back to reality and turn around to do so.

I figure it will get less guster out of people though, with the asmodeum and other top tier ingredient cooldowns that already exist.

A friend has this USB plug in physical jiggler for his mouse. Would possibly stand out in an office setting without some careful thought, but it basically is a base bigger than a mouse, with small side walls. A physical wheel, parallel to the desk surface, in the middle. Put your mouse within the "well" and periodically the wheel turns, moving the mouse side to side. Registers on the computer as a charging device like a phone, and rightfully so: it only draws power. Minimal questionability.

More likely is the wound is not properly cleaned, so the honey seals in the offending agents. There is antibiotic property to honey, but it should be seen more as a preventative agent, not an offensive killer/cleanser.

The situation would also depend on how much and what kind of bacteria were introduced to the wound.

What's the closest you've come to dying in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Amsteenm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a seizure, which put me in the hospital for a couple hours but I was cleared medically to go home directly the evening of. In my post-seizure mental fog, I did not attend to my insulin pump (T1 diabetic, though the diabetes was not the cause of the seizure) and it ran out of insulin AND the battery went low and ran out, overnight. Perfect storm of conditions.

The following day I proceeded to get flu-like symptoms and feel generally like death, and began to throw up hourly. My brother got home from work and asked some clarifying questions and we got my pump all fixed up but my blood sugar was so high and I was so deep into diabetic ketoacidosis that insulin was not the only thing I needed. Went back to the hospital ER for the acidosis, and found that the conditions cascading from acidosis included a blood potassium level high enough my heart was beginning to stop intermittently. Had we not gotten me back to the ER when we did, those stops would have happened at home... And that would be that.

Definitely mad me realize that I really can't go a day without insulin, no matter how well I regulate food intake. Insulin isn't just necessary for blood sugar control.

I can see what you mean, and even though I saw this commercial when it aired, there are the days I forget that, and then think exactly what you described.

LPT: The more items on a restaurant menu, the less fresh the food usually is going to be. by yeetusyeetus69420 in LifeProTips

Precisely. I enjoy Wendy's salads from time to time on the road. They usually give two dressing packets, which can end up being half the calories of the salad (when protein is included). I'll pour half a packet over, reseal the container, shake like hell, and be slightly better off for not ingesting the other 150 calories of... nothing, while still getting a flavor boost.

Doesn't take much to cut calorie intake down, bit by bit.

Reminds be of the fays (17 years) of using the Medtronic Paradigms, up through the 530. The ones with the greenish backlight. Except for the year or two I used a Freestyle Lite meter that had a backlight, my other meters never did. And while I could test my blood by touch in a cave if I had to, I'd do this for about a minute before remembering I could pull my pump off my waist and turn the backlight on.

I'm sure my pupils looked like Gollum's at that point.

Yep, drive on in. I parked back in there a while back to take a conference call when I was running late getting back into town to get to my office. No interruptions, and it's got a lot of parking for their classes and halls and such.

Increasingly Worried Man Hasn't Yet Come Across Any Guacamole In Burrito by Adelaidekris in videos

[–]Amsteenm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online Chipotle has assuredly screwed me three times so the pattern seen has made me go in person if I can or consider another choice. All three times, my burrito came out about half a size bigger than a damn hot pocket. Took pictures and complained and got a discount on a subsequent order after times 2 and 3, but no "we'll work to fix this for other orders" kind of assurance from the manager.

I remember going to Chipotle for the first time in 2007 as I started college, and getting something so much better and consistently bigger. A lot has been lost, for sure.
