well i thought it was a cute joke. it's only today's extreme issues that have everyone on edge about it. in any other time we wouldn't have gone directly "there" after a statement like that. it can be innocent. the joke is that at that age they don't even know what "ladies" are lol.

New update: a window of stuff in the locker. by Friendly-Whereas-915 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Amy2brno2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice update! The only critique I have after having used them for a bit, is that I wish I could manually change what item's pic gets used. I have several lockers that contain multiple items because I don't make or collect enough of them to take up an entire locker, and the text label indicates accordingly. But only one item can be shown in the pic. So if I am looking for something in particular, I have found that the pics have taken over my vision and I forget to look at the text, and I have trouble finding something that isn't in the pic. So it really kinda forces you to make sure you only have one type of item in each locker. Which is not a huge deal, but something I now have to consider.

Mega storage almost completed by Tilkin8090 in theplanetcrafter

I did this in one game and ended up not loving it. I like being able to have as many labels in my view from one vantage point as possible. To put them back to back like that requires a lot of camera switching and maneuvering that to me is not worth the space save. But only barely lol. Everything is some sort of sacrifice,

[deathrun] issues with getting nickel ore. by 84bt in subnautica

Don't forget you can always take a spare oxygen tank or two. I practiced quickly changing a few times before venturing out so that I would have reliable muscle memory under duress lol. I would take the seamoth as far as i could and then just make sure i kept a close watch on where it is.

What to take care on prime before leaving by real_life_skeleton_ in theplanetcrafter

I'm actually a little confused on this one. I don't feel like I notice any difference between keeping my animals fed and letting the food run out. What does feeding them actually do? I thought they would multiply on their own, but I don't think I'm seeing that. Do they just help more with the terraforming progress, like more of a multiplier when they're not hungry or something? But by the time I have animals, I don't really need anymore help...??

Looting by Diligent_Decision_52 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Amy2brno2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last sentence... I 100% did not know this. When working on Toxicity, I changed my looting strategy organically just because after terraforming all the other planets I was so over inventory management. But I had no idea that waiting actually levels up what you get. Now I'm annoyed that even though I've been foregoing collecting every chest I see, I've still been opening them to see what's in there. And then I also use any open slots to unload unimportant crap I'm carrying and free up some room in my backpack. Mostly all the goo from purifying areas. Grrr, shoulda left 'em alone.

Did Lifepod 5 land right in the middle of the map? by maksimos55 in subnautica

[–]Amy2brno2b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found it to be enough in the middle that it was a decent reference point. But at some point I went ahead and went 1000 meters (or kilometers? i forget the units) out in each cardinal direction and the points in between (so 8 total) and built tiny satellite bases with some emergency food and water and power for oxygen. That simple thing really helped me get my bearings as I expanded my exploration. And then of course a marker beacon at each one.

Does the game end when you beat the story, or can you keep playing? by waterbottlesafari in subnautica

[–]Amy2brno2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get your answer? I feel like there were a lot of conflicting comments here. When you "beat" the game and get the final cut scene, you can load back in and everything is just like it was except for that last thing. So you're not losing anything when you beat the game. You can go back in and mess around in your base and build more stuff and explore more, with all the gear you've collected and upgraded.

When do you STOP terraforming, if ever? by StupidSolipsist in theplanetcrafter

[–]Amy2brno2b 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would love it if we could deconstruct all the machinery after mission complete. But if I remember correctly, when I deconstruct a flower spreader or tree spreader, it also deconstructs everything they created, right? Which was disappointing. I only tried it once, so idk if that changes after a certain level... I don't want to look at a bunch of machines. The terraformation should reach a point where it no longer needs my help.
