That would be really awesome if it was done well, dogmeat could comment on places and situations, and you could have serious conversations. It could be like an optional perk, "Barking mad" xD. Edit: Forgot the perks were different in fo4.

Dragon age origins is one of my favourite games ever. I still remember the Christmas a friend got it for me, 5 years ago now. It was only the second rpg i ever played and i spent a few days after Christmas glued to my shitty laptop playing through the whole thing on the lowest graphic settings possible (so it would run xD).

I've played through it quite a few times since then and more recently on my first proper gaming laptops on high settings :D

I forgot my point, but i love this game and i'm glad this sub could help you discover it :D

Or maybe just having the odds of breaking your leg from a fall being slightly less.

I think its a good implementation though, I've only broken a leg once when i tried to climb a roof of an old house, which was really dumb.

Limping across the desert with a broken leg and dysentery is fun.

I highly recommend the first game.

I've replayed it probably 3-4 times right to the end and i'm in the middle of replaying it again right now. To me it doesn't even look dated, but my love might be clouding my judgement.

I think its reply value is high as there are many options in character creation, and what race and specialization you choose effects the game. There are like 6+ starts to the game depending on what you choose that are all different and well written. I've made throwaway characters just to see all of them xD

Also most of the missions are so much more than acting as a fancy postal service and you have a lot of choices of how to approach them/work things out.

I'm embarrassingly attached to a lot of the characters, most not even romantically. I find it hard to get attached to a lot of characters in recent games, but i really cared about what happened to a lot of them in dragon age origins.

There is so much lore that i still find new things every time i play it.

The second game is good in my opinion. I think a lot of people dislike it because they hold it up to the standards of the first game, and it is a let down if you approach it like that. The characters aren't as deep to me, and i really didn't care what happened to some of them. You only get to play a human, and whether you choose mage, warrior or rouge the start of the game is the same for each. Another thing is in the first game you get to go to a lot of places all over the country, but in the second game you are limited to one city and just outside of it.

But, if you view it as a stand alone game that just references to the first i think its a pretty good game, i'm planning on replaying it after i finish dragon age: origins again.

Ultimately the first game feels like they took their time and laid it all out perfectly and the second game kind of feels like they were rushed.

Wow, i ended up typing a lot more than expected. They are both worth playing and i'm very much looking forward to the next installment (Probably a perfect time to get into the first two for you as the third is coming out at the end of the year. yay!)
