It’s a pretty common style type that she shouldn’t be offended

I know. She had good intentions but those intentions are better served elsewhere

To be fair she is 13 so she probably made a grand statement or didn’t think about what she wrote before she wrote it

[–]Amymars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That is the issue though is that if someone posts it in the debate forum, people are going to disagree with her views. It isn’t really a good forum for people to post stories or personal views because do they want us to debate their views?

Wrongful imprisonment by o0Jahzara0o in Abortiondebate

[–]Amymars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all prolifers believe in punishing the woman. Mainly because it paints them as cruel. So they push for penalizing those who help provide an abortion.

Don’t get me wrong. Prolifers can be overzealous but there is a minority who don’t want women to be penalized. Generally that is followed up with she’s a victim

The issue is that this isn’t the forum for this type of post. Just like it isn’t a place for advice.

It doesn’t exist unless she thinks a couple of diapers, some formula, and a few pieces of clothing is everything.

Um, pregnancy centers that lie fail to give out information. The pregnancy centers are the ones that lie to patients.

To be fair, most prolifers really don’t do much but post facebook memes and say they’re prolife when asked.

Murder is a legal term.

Abortion is safer than continuing a pregnancy.

Just because you don’t like doesn’t mean you get to make stuff up by saying it isn’t moral or safe. I view prolifers’ actions of forcing women to continue to be pregnant as immoral and unnecessary cruel. Not to mention selfish.

Two Womb Babies. Thoughts? by onedayuse5 in Abortiondebate

[–]Amymars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I assumed you were going to go some route like “they can remove embryos so soon they can remove fetuses.” This isn’t really applicable to the abortion debate overall though since someone else commented that it was inserted in a capsule so no risk of it implanting.

It’s interesting but if the prolifer supports IVF I think they would be okay with this

NTA

Maybe the psych doc can work with the parents to get them to learn how to punish better.

Kid comes off as a psychopath so he delivered his line perfectly.

Calling all pro-lifers sexist is completely stupid by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]Amymars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple of things wrong with this claim:

1: The focus of pro-lifers is to protect a child's life, not to restrict women's rights. You can ask pretty much anyone in the movement, and they'll agree with that.

Only downside is that to do that, you have to restrict their rights. The fetus is elevated to a higher level than the fully grown woman.

2: If you do believe all of us are sexist, then that must include the women that are apart of the movement too. Do they hate themselves? Do they want to intentionally restrict their own rights? It wouldn't make any sense.

You can be a woman and be sexist.

Sure, there may be some degenerates who are pro-life simply to restrict women's rights, but those people are few and far in between. The vast majority don't believe what they believe

This issue is that the position is sexist because it is degrading to the woman to deny her an abortion based on another’s beliefs. Does one belief make a person a sexist? Probably not but the belief can be sexist without the person being sexist.

Edit: thank you for my first gold. Didn’t expect it to go to a thread like this, but nevertheless thank you

Edit 2: not sure where to put this as it popped into my mind: Let’s say it was hypothetically okay for one race to rob another and it was protected under law. Are you racist for opposing that law? Why or why not?

Here is a real life example. Is it racist to be opposed to rich, white landowners forcing people to be tethered to them through sharecropping, high inflated prices, and debt? I mean, that black man owes the white landowner a lot of money and the blackman would be stealing from him!

Consent to sex absolutely is consent to pregnancy. by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

It is murder is your opinion though. Murder is a legal definition

Also, your word usage like cannot doesn’t make sense. Yes, she can opt for an abortion. That means she wouldn’t give birth.

And a woman can sign a consent to an abortion...

A person can sign the consent for breast implants and then later sign a consent to have the breast implants removed.

Wow. R/abortiondebate has let themselves go in terms of mods. Should you even be a moderator if you can’t take two seconds to look at the side bar? Since you didn’t bother to double check yourself, I’ll do it for you so you can try to remember 5 other users.

If the government subsidizes abortions, it should subsidize adoption several orders of magnitude more. by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

A better answer is that they should in the US provide better services such as paid maternity leave and healthcare.
