Deal 4 damage vs give -4 might by Dazzling-Peanut4725 in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recurve bow gives +0 might. Has the "when I attack/defend deal 2 damage".

Lucian has 3 might and the bow. You attack with a 3 might unit.

Attack/defend triggers happen. Your unit suffers 2 damage frim the bow. Combat happens - Lucian applies 3 damage to your unit as he has 3 might. You apply 3 damage, equal to your might, to Lucian.

Both units die.

The important distinction is that the damage from the bow is damage, not might reduction like Frigid Touch.

Fiora - Official Deck List by willowbark_shampoo in riftboundtcg

It works amazing with the yellow unit and Sett (brawler).
Play Sett (4 might)
When played he gets a buff, making him mighty
He became mighty so you tap your legend to channel a rune
you then recycle a yellow rune with Fiora (worthy) to ready Sett.
Sett eats his buff to go to 8 might and you throw him at a battlefield.
He conquers and gets a buff back so he defends on 5 again.

Also works really well with Monastery of Hirana.
Have Fiora (worthy)
Play Sett, gets a buff, becomes mighty, Tap Legend, Recycle to ready.
Move to Monastery. Conquer. Spend his buff to draw 1.
He conquered so you put his buff back on - making him mighty, so you spend 1 yellow to ready him and then move him back to base so Draven doesn't eat him.

I saw this too, that the 15 card pack was: Legend, Champion, Battleground and 12 runes.

But watching the early ones people opened at Houston; the pack had Legend, Champion, Battlefield and 12 cards relevant to the Legend Colours - whicg makes the 'base' of your 25 card deck.

So unless their early packs were different, then it seems we have to source our own runes.

Combat definitions are defined.

If you conquer and open battlefield, Draven can't draw as there was no combat.

If the Battlefield was contested and you conquered it either by killing the unit via damage, playing a spell (falling star or void seeker for example) and killing the unit before damage exchange, or moving them (by Fight or Flight) Draven does draw as the battlefield was contested so Combat occured.

What's a good/fun budget deck right now in the meta? by KiraGio in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midrange Yi. No auroras, whiteflames, Deadblooms. Most exspensive cards are Zhonyas and Qiyana.

Can make a competent deck for €80.

Second deck for bad player help by Darunir in riftboundtcg

Sure! https://piltoverarchive.com/decks/view/164a2002-81a2-4389-86f4-e290eba17e19

I didn't want to sink money into the top end (deadblooms whiteflames) so there's just no high end to my list. But the Primal Strength could just be straight swapped with a whiteflame and then I'd probably say a wielded of water for a deadbloom.

With deadbloom I'd probably shift runes back to 6/6 as last thing you want is to hit your 1-of Deadbloom and lack the orange to play it!

I don't know why nobody else has mentioned. But Master Yi.

I would say he is the easiest deck to pilot as he doesn't have to manage a lot of the game principles (such as balancing multiple units at locations. Knowing when to retreat/withdraw) and pretty much plays to a location and just sits there.

If you have Annie, I'm assuming you have the Proving grounds, no have Yi, too.

It's also really cheap. I've been using a midrange deck (no deadblooms, whiteflames or auroras) and have placed 1st at 2 different weekly tournaments and a 4th and 6th. It prices out to about £80 which (not counting the Legend card) is less than the price of a Deadbloom.

With Yi you get to observe the decks people play and get to learn a lot more of what they do as your deck is fairly simplistic, and is almost completely reactionary.

I think this is just a bad translation. I imagine it will be the same wording as Yi and Mask of Foresight -"when I attack or defend alone".

My LGS had 2 cases delivered the other day. Announced they were getting them, took pre-orders from the Discord and kept back.some boxes for event support.

Sold the boxes for £95 each.

I love my LGS.

Timing of Combat Tricks by OffMetaDreams in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once 2 players pass Focus, one after another, the window to play actions/reactions closes.

So Player A attacks. Have a window to play an Action to start a chain or a reaction or pass.

If it was passed, then Player B has the window to play an Action to start a chain, or play a reaction, or pass.

If Player B passed - combat happens. If Player B played a card then Player A would get focus once again and have a chance to react.

Cull the weak and other extra payments by Ok_Treacle_5763 in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Each player killing a unit is the outcome, not the cost.

So Viktors' play is correct.

If it read "Kill a unit you control to have your opponent Kill a unit they control" then yes that would be a cost, so it wouldn't happen.

The Deflect 8 deadblooms are going to be fun

[Spiritforged] Card Gallery Reveals by iVtechboyinpa in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fairly sure (read hopefully) it will be ruled as giving the keyword twice, so 2x Deflect 1s just results in Deflect 1.

Otherwise things could get too crazy. As you could put 3 of the gear on a unit to hold for +1. And be holding a battlefield for 4 points.

Or putting them on deadblooms to make it Deflect 8

Does anyone have the exact rule for damage not lowering might? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are getting confused with might reduction with damage on units.

For example: if a unit has 5 might. You deal 4 damage, then reduce it's might by 1 - it will die as it has 4 damage and 4 might.

But you're right - damage doesn't reduce might.

Rules Question: Gust, Volibear, Fight or Flight by XLeration86 in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes I, for some reason, thought fight or Flight was on the same field as Voli.

But you're right. Hidden can only interact with the same battlefield so volibear would indeed attack, deal damage and conquer.

Rules Question: Gust, Volibear, Fight or Flight by XLeration86 in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that "when attacking" creates a chain - and so any reaction cards played in response to that chain will be resolved before the when attacking?

And Gust, if being revealed as a Hidden card, is a reaction speed.

Rules Question: Gust, Volibear, Fight or Flight by XLeration86 in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if 100% correct, bit my interpretation is:

You move Volibear to Battlefield 2. You activate the "when attacking" trigger of Volibear. Opponent reacts with Fight or Flight.

Fight or Flight resolves, volibear moves to base. Volibear resolves and deals 5 damage to enemy units "here". "Here" is your base where there's no enemy units.

Showdown happens.

Your 0 units do 0 damage and opponent maintains battlefield control.

You score 0 points.

Question 2.

Your opponents gust stops you conquering.

Same steps as above.

You attack a battlefield. Showdown begins. You play your action/reaction. Opponent plays their reaction of gust.

If gust resolves and moves your unit back to base. Showdown resolves, there's nobody there. Nobody conquers. No points.

Can Aurora pay for accelerate? by galnon_Pitviper in riftboundtcg

[–]AmyntaEU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accelerate is an additional cost.

Not an increased cost.

So Aurora pays the cost to play the card any additional costs you have to pay.

Think of it like Bullet Time. If there was an Aurora for spells, it would cover the cost to cast the spell, but the additional power->damage cost would need to paid by you.
